I stayed at Hotel Schumacher for three nights. It is close enough to Düsseldorf Hbf, the main train station, and is not too difficult to find. It is an old-fashioned but perfectly maintained hotel, and the staff are pleasant to deal with. The breakfast is good, though the breakfast room may be a little crowded at busier times. My room... I've stayed in several similar type hotels in Dusseldorf city centre and cannot fault this for value and comfort. I will stay here again. It is about 10-15 minutes walk from Hauptbahnhof (including waiting time to cross a few busy streets). The road is not attractive, with small businesses mainly. I felt totally safe in the area. There is a... More

At checking-in, the toilet bowl was not cleaned. I reported it, but it was cleaned the next day. The elevator stops between floors. The rooms at the hotel's site look large, but they are tiny. No space to put the luggage. For a larger room there is a surcharge. During breakfast a guest had his huge dog sitting next to... More

I have to give two stars to this hotel because i did not sleep for 3 days. THE GOOD . There is good things about it: the staff is helpful and friendly , the location is OK (10 min walk to the main station) but there is nothing to see around the hotel. The rooms are very clean and the... More

Some years ago I lived in Germany and today this hotel gave me a feeling of being there again instead of classic up to dated hotels (the hotel is rather old with regular room keys and TV, no flatscreen). Me and my colleagues were very satisfied with rooms, breakfast, free mini-bar etc. Before coming to Dusseldorf I did searching over... More

Hotel has a very warm atmosphere. Staff are friendly. Room is clean. Bathroom is wide and well equipped (they'll give you small size toothpaste and shave kit). Bed comfortable, but pillow is rather small. Breakfast is good, you have choise of warm and cold dishes. Two things are great: you get free mini-bar with non-alcoholic drinks and transport card which... More

Stayed in this hotel in July 2009 on a combined leisure and business trip to Düsseldorf and Cologne. Found an unbelievable deal for twin room through Booking.com. Three nights only 156 euros (52 euros a night for the whole room), including buffet breakfast, tickets to local transport for the days and the non-alcohol drinks in the mini bar. Unbelievable deal... The rooms are comfortable, spacious and value for money. They have a free mini bar with water, juice and soft drinks that are replinished every day. The room has sofas to relax also. Its a little bit of a walk from the Dus Hbf station but still worth it. The breakfast is basic but includes scrambled eggs. The elevator is... More
