I have just returned from a 3 day business trip to Düsseldorf, for the DRUPA Exhibition, and I stayed at the Hotel Asahi which was booked for me by my company. When I saw some of the reviews though I was a little concerned... However, from my personal experience then I cannot fault the hotel or the staff, which is... More

As we walked into the room, it had a really bad smell. The toilet looked like it had not been used for months, and had brown things growing inside. When we called to complain, they sent a cleaning lady in just to clean the brown stuff, but nothing for the smell. Rest of the room old and definitely did not... More

Hotel was rated well on Travelocity/Expedia by other travellers but was disappointing -- I would rate the hotel a 2 star. The lobby area was dingy and walls, elevator, etc. needed a fresh coat of paint. The building is partially an apartment building. Was not worth the price. Rooms had hardwood floors (a definite plus) and were clean. No restaurant.... More

VERY DISAPPOINTING! I thought that I was getting an extremely good deal as there was a large price reduction when I booked online, however I was soon to discover why the price was reduced. This is definitely NOT a four star hotel, if anything the hotel drew on the stars in their window themselves to trick us. The hotel advertised... More

I think this place is slightly overpriced. The rooms are quite baren, and with very basic furniture and not a good quality bed. On this occasion the ceiling above the shower was dirty and the shower tray was blocked. However, the service is always excellent from the staff (I stay here regularly for business trips) and the breakfast - Japanese... More

The hotel advertises as a four star hotel, this is NOT a four star hotel by a long shot!! The hotel is two stars maximum. The hotel is basic and clean and staff are friendly. Small breakfast area and no atmosphere in the small bar for a drink after work. The hotel is not far from the city centre (10-12... More

The Asahi is a somewhat strange hotel for a city centre, in that the building is "shared" - part residential, part hotel, although via seperate entrances. Although odd, it posed no problem. Location-wise- a short 10 minute stroll from the main train station - Hauptbahnhof-it's ideal. The general area of the hotel itself is nothing to shout about to be... More

Good location. Not far from railway station and the centre of town is 15 minutes away. The front office staff were extremely helpful with their advice re places to visit and things to do. Service was very good as well. Room was clean. The aircon worked and there were no noise problems. ice was available from the front desk on... More

Although the hotel is well located (not far from main train station) the service is extremely poor and staff very unfriendly and not professional. I stayed there for 5 nights and here below some examples of what I experienced: - I found tissues of the previous guest in my bathroom bin - I asked for a non smoking room, gor... More
