Probably ideal if you are visiting Dusseldorf on business; the location of this hotel is just across the park from the lively old town and is also within ten minutes walk of the main shopping area. The rooms are comfortable, well-equipped and reasonably spacious. Negatives? Breakfast was an eye-watering 25 euros and the free internet allowance was meagre.

Toiletries were missing from my room. There was only shower gel and conditioner in my room, no shampoo or hand soap. Breakfast was not included in base room rate. I was told it would cost €28 for the buffet. Instead I went across the street and had breakfast at a cafe for €8.

I am sorry to say the below, as I found the hotel convenient to get to the Rhine and the Altstadt, the rooms have wonderful beds and decent bathrooms and it was in a quiet location adjacent to the Hofgarten which is lovely. However to arrive on one of the hottest days and : - waiting ages to get a... More

not sure why some people have shared negative comments on bfast and internet ...Of course their bfast is expensive and internet is charged - but I chose to ignore this after reaching the hotel (as I already knew before booking). At the price that I booked the hotel for two nights, I thought it was excellent VFM. It is walkable... More

The hotel is modern, beautiful, clean. Their staff needs urgent training, they seam not to know how to check you in, or don't now what they can serve you in their restaurant! Most of the staff only now German, so communicating is not easy. Their food quality and taste, is really low.

The rooms are very clean, however, the initial room was too small and asked to change to larger room with additional charge. The large room had shower and bath tab, and really comfortable. Breakfast is typical ones, but nice. Although it is close to subway station, it is a little bit far from alt stadt to walk. There are some... More

We didn't really stay here too long as Germany was more of an escape from our Euro adventure, but from what we experienced, this is a nice hotel. The staff is quite friendly and engaging, they even create a special treat for children upon arrival. The hotel itself is clean and modern; the rooms spacious and sleek. The location of... More

The hotel has a very good location. We could walk to many tourist attractions, it is right next to the park, and the S-bahn and U-bahn are about a block away from the hotel. The hotel parking is expensive (in my view). However there is street parking that is free with no time limit in the evenings (before 0900 and... More

Stayed at the Melia for 3 nights and had an excellent visit. We arrived early Saturday a.m. from a very long flight from Los Angeles and were very warmly greeted by two wonderful staff at check in. Our room wasn't quite ready (actual check in was mid afternoon), so they readily stowed our luggage and we went exploring. We ended... More
