The walls are paper thin and you can hear what's going on in other rooms fairly well. The TV in the room is tiny, the single. pillow wasn't good and the breakfast was a big disappointment, especially at the price, with little choice

Summer can get hot in Germany and the rooms here don't have air conditioning. Also, the free wi-fi never worked properly unless you were on the ground level. Restaurant doesn't open unti 4PM and the food isn't too good. At least the Warsteiner always pours cold. Service is a little cranky at times, but the price is right.

My room was clean and well presented, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, providing me with maps to help me on my way. However, my room didn't smell all that great - possibly due to plumbing issues which seem to be common in the area. This wasn't helped by the fact that there was only a transparent glass... More

Photo image of this hotel somehow gives the impression that it's located at the heart of a confusing major thoroughfare but it's actually down a quiet side-street only a convenient 5 mins walk from Mulheim DB/U-bahn station. Surprised no one has mentioned the noise associated with its position. It being a hot August night (and with no aircon - not... More

Not a bad location (7 mins walk to S-bahn and then 10 minutes to the center), but no dedicated parking, and extremely poor WiFi signal - the connection went down every 10-or-so minutes. Other than that, the reception staff was helpful with all questions we had. A transparent glass door to the bathroom was quite a feature, though. :-)

Despite being located far from the city center, I thought this hotel could be a good choice. The reception staff was friendly and I liked the decoration, that was until I entered the room and saw the bathroom. Who had the "brilliant" idea of installing a transparent glass-door in the bathroom of a family/group room? I wouldn't mind if that was... More

This property is tucked away at the end of Schleswigstrasse and is about a 10 minute brisk walk away from Mulheim Station. Believe the majority of rooms are renovated, a bit on the small side, and not much of room furniture to mention! However, for a one night stay it is about sufficient and at the HRS room price of... Stayed here on hubbys recommendation for 3 nights in Cologne. The hotel was a 10 minute train ride outside Cologne then a 5 minute walk from station. The trains were every 10 mins or so into the early hours of the morning but after a whole day walking around the city it got a bit tiring having to get the... More

Starting off with the positives, this hotel was easy to find and easy access to transportation. The bathroom was clean but room was very small. Walls were very thin, could hear our neighbours conversations and the lighting in the room was very bad. Most staff did not speak English although that was not a problem as any staff who did... We stood there four nights in December 09. positive: - good size rooms - clean - S-Bahn (tube) to cologne within walking distance - good breakfast buffet - free parking - quiet area not so good: - WiFi incredable unstable, had to move to tha staircase and even there it's unusable. - a small glas coke costs 2.20Eur, Southern Comfort...
