Our stay at the family-run Hotel Domstern was fantastic. The owner was a delight ,spoke good English and was most helpful. The room was airy, light and very clean with wonderfully comfortable beds and fresh cotton linen. The breakfast was an absolutely delicious buffet in a small but clever space on the ground floor. As we were travelling by train, the hotel was perfectly situated... more

I must add my accolades to others for Hotel Domstern. It is in a most convenient location, not just for train travelers, but for tourists who want to be near many places of interest in Cologne. The rooms are compact, but spotlessly clean and modern. The bed is comfortable, the wifi works beautifully, there is a great shower, too--what else... more

Very close to Dom Cathedral. Asked numerous questions about city and places to go and the staff helped us tremendously. They were very nice, spoke great English, and went out of there way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The hotel has free breakfast and they have stand up showers which is kind of rare in Europe. more

Stayed at the hotel with my family for one night prior to travelling to Frankfurt to catch an international flight. Was pleasantly surprised by the excellent hotel we'd found and what a beautiful city Cologne is. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but very clean, quiet and comfortable (nice bed). The rooms also have good... more

The hotel was somewhat difficult to find by car because the road signs in Cologne could be improved, but the hotel is within very short walking distance of the railroad station and the cathedral. Once we got there, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and he spoke excellent English. The room was small but nice, and there is secure... more

The hotel is in a quiet residential street between the main station and the cathedral (about a couple of hundred yards from each), which was ideal for me. My room (on the second floor - there's a lift) was perhaps slightly on the small side, but perfectly OK and very clean. I slept well. Breakfast (also in a slightly cramped... more

Stayed at this Hotel for two nights at the end of April. I would agree with all the other reviews. Very clean and tidy, single room quite small but ideal for a few nights stay, good selection at breakfast. The staff are most helpfull and nothing was too much trouble. The joint owner even printed out my boarding pass for... more

We found this hotel on trip advisor and what a find! Close to all the major sights & within walking distance to the main train station. Michael made us feel very welcome and provided us with information that enabled us to find the Cologne that tourists dont often see. The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our... more

We stayed at Hotel Domstern the last two nights of our vacation. We had a little trouble finding it, but that was because of construction in front of the train station that made it difficult to locate the right street. Our room was small but very clean, with adequate storage space, a TV, and private bath for 164 Euro for... more
