In my opinin, rooms-wise this is the best of the five-stars in Cologne. It is not so well situated as Dom-Hotel and Excelsior Ernst and the construction of the metro right in front of it doesn't help, but otherwise it's great. It's also the only one with a real swimming pool, i.e. not a small pond. What I minded most... more

when we arrived they had no knowledge of our booking, despite us having a printed confirmation. We were early so they offered us a smoking room, it was an excellent size, but it did smell, after this they offered us a junior suite as it was my birthday. this was a lovely room, L shaped with a large chaise, desk... more

This luxury hotel next to the Heumarkt can only be recommended! There’s not only the Hemingway’s Bar but even the elevator’s to the room offer a nice view on the cathedral. My deluxe room without any special view deserved this name: spacious, a walking wardrobe, modern bathroom. Only downside was the fact that the Wifi connection was unstable. Service was... more

My husband & I decided to go to Cologne to celebrate my birthday and see the German Christmas markets, as I had always wanted to see the Christmas markets. I booked to stay at this hotel. It's a fantastic hotel, very central to everything, and we really enjoyed staying here. The hotel is doesn't look so impressive from the outside... more

This hotel has the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. But there is much more to say about this hotel. Location is very good, short walk to the Dom and also close to the river Rhine. Breakfast is very good and if you wanna eat out don't worry: the hotel is in an area with plenty nice restaurants.... more

I stayed at this hotel when I had travelled to Cologne to see Bruce Springsteen just before Christmas. Cologne is a great city with nice architecture, great winter markets and brilliant bars. The night life is great and the city is good for a wander during the day, especially around the markets and down by the river. The Intercontinental is... more

We stayed at the Intercontinental Cologne for 2 nights in May as the first stop of a month long trip to Europe. The hotel lived up to all the favorable comments, and our standard room was just fine. Our only complaint was that we noticed that after a fine dinner in the Maulbeers restaurant that the bill indicated a 12... more
