The hotel is a nice little place just 5 minute walk away from Cologne central station. It's in a calm street and the rhine is about 50m away. The rooms are spacious and tidy, with nice oldfashioned furniture. They have free wifi and a very good breakfast with a great variety of food. So why not 5 stars ? Because... More

It's a quaint hotel on a quiet side street of downtown Cologne. It's close enough to the train station to walk, but it's far enough where you don't hear trains all the time. It was kind of confusing to find at first. The staff is friendly and everything was clean. It does have a small elevator and the room was... More

if you look at the photos on their website, you see larger airy rooms that could perhaps be characterized as "boutique". the room i received was miniature. tiny night stand. tiny television. tiny bath. tiny bed. tiny 1-person elevator, tiny hallway. (but big gigantic skeleton key for the room!). its close to the main station. but there are hotels closer... More

We stayed only one night, but the atmosphere of the whole hotel, the hospitality of the owner and the hygiene were really great. Also the room was very nice, big and cosy. The breakfast was also really great. The location is on walking distance to the main attractions. So the next time we visit Cologne, we are going to visit... More

This hotel is located in a quiet street, is clean, well maintained with an excellent breakfast, even salmon was included in the breakfast and a large variety of juices and fruits. The hotel is located three streets away from the train station and only a street away from the river.

The Buchholz hotel is situated within easy walking distance to Colognes famous Gothic cathedral, train station, several museums, other attractions of interest and shopping streets. We booked a triple room and were delighted with the ambiance of a spacious room with high ceilings and large windows. We were fortunate to find parking just outside the front door of the hotel.... I marked late check in when I made the reservation. They tried contacting me, while I was in Germany (couldn't use cell phone) to see what time I'd be arriving. I took a cab from the airport & arrived around 10pm. They were waiting on me and had a quick check in. I love the old room keys & 1... More

The room was a cozy, clean, and close to the Dom, train station, and several other attractions. We arrived around noon, too early for normal check in, yet they gave us the key and said feel free to drop your bags in the room and we will clean the room while you are out. No hassle and all positive. Chocolates... More

Very friendly family run hotel within easy walking distance of the Dom. We had two basic but adequate rooms, including one triple room. Good quality breakfast. Not that cheap compared to other towns but compared well to other Cologne hotels. Parking is a bit tight, but we found a space with a meter nearby which gave us 2 hours in... More

I picked this hotel a week before my trip, but it was not my first choice as it was not ranked as high as the other bigger hotels. However, at the time of booking, the price for this hotel was just right. And after my stay, I am glad I stayed here. Note: The hotel room is really small, but... More
