As four couples doing a short tour of europe in sports cars we booked this hotel. On arrival we were greeted by the reception staff who offered to park our vechicles in there underground carpark at a cost of 25 euros per night. Being some expensive metal we were a little wary of letting the staff park the cars but... more

The 'Watertower' hotel is a real gem in Cologne. Situated a short walk from the main centre, it is a glorious landmark and converted wonderfully into a top-spec hotel. The rooms (we had a junior suite) are gorgeous, on two levels (the bedroom on the mezzanine) and with amazing HUGE windows and two bathrooms. The decor is modern without feeling... more

This hotel is well located, very comfortable and the staff are helpful, polite and accomodating. The views are terrific. The bathrooms are phenomenal. The complimentary breakfast is beyond the beyond, served in a huge, but elegant room in a copious display of seafood, cereals and whatever else you could possibly want. My only complaint is that they wanted to charge... more

We stayed at Im Wasserturm with Great Rail Journeys (fantastic company!) to visit the Christmas markets. The hotel was superb, quirky in design but a great use of a marvellous local feature of Cologne. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, breakfast was excellent and we treated ourselves to dinner in La Vision the michelin star restauraunt , which... more

I have stayed here a couple of times and I really want to like the hotel. After all, a derelict water tower has been thoughtfully and skilfully turned in to an hotel with some style. However, despite booking a junior suite on my last visit I still spent three nights in a small and claustrophobic room with a tiny bathroom.... more

This is probably the most unique hotel in Cologne. It is located in a quiet residential district only about five to 10 minutes walk from the main shopping areas. The hotel itself is within a historic water tower. I rented a duplex room (split over two floors). Everything was of a high standard, comfortable and very quiet; certainly a different... more

We stayed in the Hotel im Wasserturm on our last nigth in Germany, and it was a perfect way to end our holiday. We eat in both restuarants "la Vision" which was unbelievably good, and "Dblu" which was also fantastic for its price level though obviously not as wonderful as the michelin star rated Vision). Dinner and breakfast were excellent.... more

We had a one-night stay in a so called Deluxe-Doubleroom, positiv: great architecture unusual room (5m high) nice comfy beds their restaurant 'd/\blu' was very good negative: poor little 3-star bathroom, broken tiles and lots of brown water marks, the tiny bathroom can only be used by small people. After we used the shower the toilet next to the shower... more

Sometimes you just need to be wary of reviewers. Take the one submitted before this one from the gentleman in Boulder, Colorado - its no suprise at all that the hotel was empty during the World Cup, as were most superior hotels around Germany. Your average football fan does not spend loads of money on accommodation as he's already spent... more

This is a visually interesting hotel – an old brick water tower exterior & an ultra-modern interior. There were lots of things to like about this hotel in addition to the exterior. We had a “Junior Suite” that was over 500 sq. ft. for 240 euro per night, including the best breakfast we had in 3 weeks in Germany. They... more
