The hotel is OK. It is modern, interesting, and quirky. The service was fine -- the guy at the front desk is a hoot. It is located away from everything but the messe, in a very industrial area that they have tried to spruce up. Thus, have money for cabs. There may be public transportation, but I did not see... This modern and comfortable hotel is situated in the middle of an historical industrial complex in a part of the city called DEUTZ named after the Deutz Motorcompany. It offers you comfortable, clean and very modern rooms. It's too far from the center to walk back after a night out, you'll have to take a cab but if you have... More

It's 15 minutes walk distance to koelnmesse & s-bahn station, which means a good place for fair visitors. Except this, there is no problem with the hotel. It's clean, staff is polite and helpful. For people who wants to visit cologne, it's better to stay near altstadt, on the other side of Rhein.

Stayed one night while on a business trip. The hotel is very nice with a chic style, friendly and helpful staff and good food. It is however in a very odd location being in a part of Cologne that is ostensibly a very large industrial estate. The Koelnmesse is about 15 minutes walk away and there are some very well... More

Was booked here by local contacts while attending Dmexco. It's about a fifteen minute walk to the Koln Messe trade fair grounds. It's a strange place. Quite well converted older building. A pleasant reception that doubles as a bar too. Very helpful young staff checking in, and took me personally to my room in the building next door (??). Spacious... More

Friends had booked the hotel for a joint birthday party, doing their own catering, as this hotel only does breakfast. I arrived 2 1/5 hours late but the chap at check in was so friendly and welcoming it helped to settle me immediately. Bedroom was above the front door, so expect a little noise from people coming and going but... More

I was staying there for one night. I expected a lot - specially after a very warm welcome at the reception. But after that I discovered a very hot room - with no working air con. In the evening there was only the chance to open the window. but there was a function in the hotel - and a private... More

We were greeted with a friendly smile on arrival and from that point onwards the staff couldn't have been more helpful and nice during our entire stay. The breakfast was lovely with a great selection of fresh foods, even the eggs were cooked perfectly and it's always nice to get a good cuppa of English breakfast tea.

In terms of today's hotel esthetics, a reference similar to the demolition of the Pruitt-Igoe housing complex could be somewhat useful since, in the past years, every place that somewhat aims at a "contemporary, authentic look and feel," lands in the vast "design hotel" category." Whether or not "The New Yorker Hotel" in Cologne qualifies to be in that league... More

I've stayed here twice in the past three months (April 2013 and February 2013) and although I slept well, I was continuously reminded about how the hotel management is focusing on the wrong things. On both visits, I was here for two-day business meetings and was able to check-in early and drop off my things in the room. I was... More
