We selected this hotel due to its' inclusion in the Leading Hotels of the World and it did not disappoint. Having read the reviews here, we found it odd and an "omen" that we were immediately offered Room 411 which we declined. We booked a three day stay in this fantastic hotel after finishing a River Cruise on the ss.River Queen - from Basel, Switzerland to Cologne, Germany. Lovely people, lovely location, but dont let the slick website fool you: this hotel is very shabby and desperately in need of an upgrade. Stayed here for Carnivale and found this hotel to have the best service I have ever experienced. The breakfast is great, good selection and the Japanese restaurant is well worth a visit. more
