I stayed for one night during a quick stop off in Cologne when travelling through Germany in December 2014. Very reasonably priced and located in a good area of the city. The staff were fantastic, very knowledgeable about the city and more than happy to assist in anyway that they could. There is a lounge in the hostel where you... More

Die Wohngemeinschaft is an exceptional hostel, and if I returned to Cologne I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The rooms are perfection. Beautifully designed, and the beds are huuge, definitely bigger than doubles - ours were private like little cabins and had red velvet curtains, individual lights and sockets. (Shakespeare room). Bathrooms and showers were abundant so never had to wait... More

I stayed in the hostel with my 3 friends in December to visit the Christmas markets in Cologne. There was a slight mix up with the rooms when we arrived as we'd booked two double rooms but the hostel only had us booked into one room on the system. Thankfully they sorted us out by finding a room all 4... More

This was more than your typical hostel. When you arrive the lift takes you to the fourth floor (the only floor you can go to without a key, as you use your key to take the lift to your room- this was an excellent security feature), here you check in at reception, there is a lounge area with free tea... This hostel was perfect for our holiday. We were 5 friends on a weekend ggetaway. I stayed in the Shakesperantos room for the first night, and then moved to a double (Room Karlo) for the second and third night (not because there was anything wrowrong with the dorms though but because we wanted to treat ourselves). The dorm room was... More

I had been traveling around in hostels for over a month at the point of which I landed in Cologne, Germany so I treated myself to a single room to relax for a bit. The room was spacious, with beautiful bright open windows. The bed was so comfortable and had enough plugs and storage to accommodate any needs. The staff... More

We loved this hostel and our room was great - huge windows with great views and fun decor. The one downside was the noise - the walls are paper thin and we were provided with free adult entertainment from the room next door. Obviously, sex noises aren't so uncommon in hotels, but we could also make out word for word... More

Very clean hostel, great staff and very well located, with lots of cool places nearby to eat and hang out. Therefore, it's always full so be sure to book in advance! The hostal has it's own club, which is very well known in the city and offers a greaaaat apple cake, don't miss it!

Stayed here in July whilst travelling around Europe with a friend and this is honestly one of the best places we stayed. Thought it may be a bit expensive for people on a very tight budget, it was still a reasonably price, but i'd pay twice as much to stay here. The best themed hostel i've ever stayed in, me... More

Love this boutique hostel in every single way. Feels very exclusive and personalised, from chilled environment to the friendly service. Could sit in the bar downstairs for hours alone or with a group on the retro seating. Very clean and tidy! Hope it is available next time I'm in Cologne, thanks guys!
