Hotel deLuxe is conveniently located not too far away from the Cologne Railway Station and the Dom Cathedral, but it's located on the "wrong" side of town - the quieter side. The area around the hotel is residential, with St Ursula Church as the main focal point.

I had a really great stay here. It is immaculately clean, the rooms are cosey, and the pillow/duvet/bed was extremely comfortable. The en-suite shower/toilet was spotless and looked quite new.
The vibe of the room i would describe as like to student /university accomodation (but the nicer end of that!).

This is probably the worst Hotel I've staid in (even by European/small hotel standards). The room had a horrible smell; a combination of cigarettes and cheep air freshener, the room was old and not well maintained, the tv had one channel, there were no clocks in the room, the phone did not work, there was no elevator, if you returned...

Bad points - no idea how it got 3 stars!! - no lift, no ac, tired decoration, small rooms. Like many German hotels, it did not have ac, but small rooms made this hotel uncomfortaby hot.
Good points - good location (10 mins from Dom and on a quiet side street close to bars and restaurants)
