The hostel is located just next to the Piusstraße station (U-Bahn), the entrance is literally a few meters from the hostel's door! There are two direct trains to Kölnmesse (so it's convenient for Gamescom visitors, for example). A lot of restaurants / bakeries / cafes can be found nearby. There's also a cheap shopping mall (Aldi) about 80 m from... More

The hostel is located in Ehrenfeld, a student type area with plenty of small bars and cafes. The hostel has its own cafe/bar on the ground floor, where the buffet breakfast is served in the morning, and where you can get basic meals and drinks throughout the day until midnight. There is also a U-Bahn station directly outside making it... More

The staff was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. I thought the city itself was charming and this was a perfect hostel to stay at (although it was a bit of a far walk to the city center, the tram was available). I would suggest using couchsurfing for this city just because it has a wonderful atmosphere but lacks... More

I stayed at a 4-person room and it was really nice and clean. Staff was extremly friendly and helpful all the time. The area is peaceful, a little way from the central but the hostel is located just next to a metro stop. The bar/cafe downstairs is cosy, you get cheap beer from there!

I really liked this place, stayed here with 3 other friends. It is outside the city centre, we took the metro to get there but the metro stop is literally outside the front door of this hostel. This made the area nice because it was more authentic and residential. The cafe area was nice to hang out, felt like an... More

Just loved it, the crew was brilliant... I could write each of them a poem showing how much I liked it there. The Hostel is clean and comfortable. the Breakfast real good (8-12 everyday is a great deal, especially after drinking all those Koelsch and Gardner for special prices for hostel guests). The hostel is at the beginning of Ehrenfeld... More

The bath, the kitchen, nice room (was half-empty) with Brazilian and Argentinian people!) That's great to met people from different continent there. --- The stuff is very friendly, kind. I don't know German, so we spoke... More

I liked my stay at Weltempfänger Hostel in a nice local area with many local shops bars and restaurants. The bed was comfy, the room fairly big for a dorm but only 6 beds so that was a nice change to crowded small dorms. The cafe/bar downstairs is nice but was very quiet on the Friday night when I was... More

I and two friends were on a training in Bad Breisig. Before we leave we decided to visit Cologne as it was closer to our airports. We booked a room in the Weltemfanger Hostel as it was the cheapest option and we were very happily surprised. The hostel is situated outside the city centre, max 30 min away walking. It's... More

I stayed here for four nights during carnival and I lived the place! It's far away enough from the insanity that you can sleep and yet close enough, you can be in the middle of the craziness in minutes with the subway. The rooms were clean and the showers exceptional for a hostel. Everyone who works there is friendly and... More
