We chose this hotel in the suburbs as we were driving to Cologne for the Christmas markets and didn't want the hassle of getting into the centre and parking. There was plentiful, free and safe parking right in front and the big plus is the tram stop outside (the ticket machine is on the tram and takes small change). We... More

I spent 8 nites here while at a trade show. It was great and they took good care of us. Accessible to Cologne downtown and the Messe by public transportation. GREAT breakfasts and wonderful coffee. They also have a good restaurant with solid German food. Maybe a bit rich but wonderful. Joe was the hotel manager and he was quite... More

We had a wonderful stay at Adolph's Gasthaus. We arrived in Cologne after 3 weeks of traveling around Europe and right away Joe and the other staff at Adolph's made us feel welcome and at home. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The food at their restaurant and bakery is excellent. The smells from the bakery that we woke up... More

The guesthouse offered a perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing in the busy centre, it was also easily accessible by tram, and surprisingly came with all of the modern comforts one could ask for. Most notably the very welcoming staff immediately made me feel right at home.

I chose Adolph's from the positive reviews I've read here, and everything travelers have said have been spot on. Upon check in, Joe (who speaks great English), gave us a city map and asked us which places we wished to see, then he showed us the easiest way to get to them. What's really great about staying at Adolph's is... More

We have just spent two lovely evenings at this guesthouse, whilst visiting the Christmas markets. The owner couldnt do enough for us, even contacting a local pub to let them know we were on our way when looking for an evening meal. The Hotel is lovely , clean , rooms large and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely couldnt count the... More

It was a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful place. The owner was nice, polite: its history is very interesting. The hotel is spotless and the adjoining bakery allows you to get from breakfast to dinner always fragrant products. The tram stop right in front of the hotel allows quick connection to the city center. Board of stay for... More

Adolph's Gasthaus exceeded our expectations. I was a little worried about noise since it was next to the train tracks and the rooms were above the restaurant/bakery. But noise was not a problem at all. The train was really quite quiet and the restaurant closed at 10pm. The restaurant turned out to be more up-scale than I expected. The food... More

Very happy with our accommodation here. Plenty of safe parking and the train is directly outside the hotel, however you don't hear any noise at all with the windows closed. It is very quiet at night. It suited us as we didn't want to drive in to the city every day and the train service runs every 15 minutes and... More
