We planned to stay just one night but ended staying 2 and then a third night. This place grows on you and we stayed because of the peace and solitude. As others have mentioned Seehotel Frankenhorst is situated in the countryside, a 10 minute drive from the centre of Schwerin and it's solitary position by the lake is relaxing. The... More

The motel is about four miles from Schwerin down a back country road and narrow lane. It is situated on a lovely little lake that also serves as a small marina for about 20 boats. The grounds are spacious and well-maintained. The grounds house some alpacas and donkeys which is nice for kids and the young at heart. The main... More

My girlfriend and I decided on this hotel as the setting looked incredible, we're glad we did decide on the right hotel as the setting is absolutely superb, in countyside between and next to beautiful lakes. If you want a very relaxing holiday which isn't too far away from the nearest German city (Schwerin) then look no further than the... More

This Hotel is lovely, Lake setting. Clean and spacious. It is also Perfect for children as there are several fields housing various types of animals (Donkeys, Chickens, alpacas) and our 4 year old especially enjoyed patting them. playground and soccer field. Breakfast was delicious German style. Our only problem was the gentleman in Reception had inadequate English otherwise very happy... More

Good location, just few minutes from the town. Clean and spacious rooms. And lake just on the door step. Perfect.

Clean, quiet and accommodating. Rooms were older - yet clean and roomy. Not your modern up to date 2011 hotel accommodations but more like a trip back to the 1970's. Staff was wonderful. Had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both meals were delicious. Breakfast buffet was expanded beyond the typical German fruhstick and well worth the price of... More

We stayed here for two nights as part of a driving tour of the area. We really cannot fault anything about this hotel. It is located in an extremely quiet position on the shore of the lake. Accommodation is in several different buildings a few hundred yards apart. We were in the Haus am See and had the Yacht Club... More

We stay here frequently throughout the year! The wellness area offers two sauna-areas of which one is equipped with a small jaccuzi. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Every room has a certain theme in its decoration. In summertime they have a private swimming area in the lake. Swimming pool is yet missing, but there plans to have one built..... More

We have stayed in this unique hotel situated in a picturesque environment for two weeks in May 2011 and loved everything about it: beautiful landscape around a wonderful lake, fresh air filled with fragrance of flowers. It was sheer pleasure to walk around in the surrounding woods and farmlands and to have boat trips in the adjacent lake. The dinners... More

The off-season rate of about € 42 per night was unbeatable for a location like this, right next to a huge lake. But - smoke from the incense burnt in the spa area coming to your room through the shared ventilation system is not everyone's favorite. Neither is their unwillingness to do something about it. If I am holding a... More
