Very nice and clean. Small present from the manager was a nice surprise. Very quiet but 5-10 mins walk to almost everything, schloss most importantly. Everything empahsizes its being organic, so you'll like it if you're into that, probably b/c of that organic breakfast seems overpriced, but wasn't an issue for us. Parking is a challenge if you have bigger... More

This is a great centrally located place to stay, only a few minutes walk from the main rail station. Schwerin is a quiet, picturesque place and the small scale friendly nature of Hotel Amadeus reflects this. The welcome we received on arrival was very pleasant and check in was swift. The room was exceptionally light and generous in space, with... More

We stayed one night at this hotel, which in fairness is very centrally located and offers free wireless. However, we spent as little time in the room as possible, because there was nothing to keep us there, frankly. The bathroom was outdated and not very clean, the room was tiny and had clearly seen better days, but worst of all,... More

The owner is Austrian so don't be surprised when he shows up at the door in Lederhosen ;-). All of the good things said about the hotel are true -- and yes, it is close to the train line but the windows are of excelleent quality and you can't hear it if they are closed. When I was there it... More

We stayed 3 nights at this place, again because they offered petfree and smokefree lodging, which apparently is a rarity in this part of Germany; the "bio" (organic food) breakfast was an added bonus. To start off with the negative, since it was so striking: we had booked 2 1/2 months in advance, for 3 nights, yet we were assigned... More

We visited Schwerin in June for 2 nights and stayed at the Hotel Amadeus. Very clean and comfortable in a convenient location. The owner was very friendly. It can be noisy if you're right near the train, but it didn't bother me that much.

I found the hotel online and it turned out to be a real gem. It has new owners - one of whom is from Austria and is determined to inject some good old-fashioned Austrian friendliness into the new venture - and they are obviously trying very hard to make their guests welcome. My room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean,... More
