Beware! The air conditioning extends only to Reception and some public rooms. It is not available in the bedrooms. The concrete and glass structure of this antiquated 1970's structure retains the heat and the south facing bedrooms are uncomfortably hot, stuffy and airless. Uncomfortable to sleep with the window closed and virtually impossible to sleep with the window open because... More

Hideous concrete edifice, but much nicer inside if a little dated in decor - pink walls/blue carpets. Right opposite the Rathaus, and on a main boulevard, so chimes from the clock and traffic noise if your room faces that way. Weather was warm and sunny when I stayed, so south(ish) facing room was quite hot late afternoon and evening. No... More

An imposing concrete 1970’s block that whilst spacious is quite boring inside and out. Caters for mostly large groups. Evening supper could only be described as uninteresting, though their buffet breakfasts were quite good. Breakfasts are a bustle and a hassle, particularly when several coach parties are in occupation. Facing the front with views to the Rathaus is much better... More

I stayed here for four nights on a tour. Arrival was quite late and so I did not notice the noise until I went to bed. My room was on the front facing the Town Hall and the four lane highway outside. The clock chimes every fifteen minutes throughout the night and as there is no sound proofing it seemed... More

We spent one week in this very well located and stylish clean hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, breakfast great, staff was helpful and we could sit and relax in its comfortable armchairs. The two only things we would comply about are:no AC despite the very hot weather.Rooms were sort of sauna, particularly the ones exposed to sunshine all... More

We spent 5 nights at the Maritim Hotel in Hannover as part of a large group. The hotel accomodations were fine except they did not have a/c in the rooms and it was VERY warm We finally were able to get a small fan --- some people were able to get portable a/c units. If you plan to be there... More

From the outside the Grand looks like a relic of DDR era housing, but from the inside it's luckily a standard german business hotel: clean, everything works and the rooms have got the basic necessities. The hotel bar and restaurant are also ok - no surprises. The hotel is located on the southern edge of Mitte with the central station... More

The Staff at the Hotel is very accommodating and very friendly especially the Dining Room Staff! The Lobby, Restaurant and the Bar are especially nice, but that's were it ends!! The Room's are atrocious by any ones standards!!! The Carpets, Curtains , Doors are much less than clean!! Don't look at the 3 Chairs , you hesitate to relax in... More

The positives are the excellent central location, perfect for museums and sight-seeing. Good meeting rooms for business customers. The hotel is looking tired - it's a hideous building. The staff are fairly friendly, though check-in is very slow if a party arrives together. Rooms - ours (9th floor) was a good size but had no air conditioning. This is a... More

The best thing about this hotel is it's location right by both the Rat Haus, and the old town, five minutes from the main underground station and five minutes from the modern shopping streets. Our room faced the front and had an unforgettable view across the road to the old Town Hall, which is really spectacular. The meals in the... More
