My wife and I stayed in the twin room, which was extremely comfortable in all aspects e.g comfy beds, cosy room, spacious en-suite, plus the usual facilities,TV, Wi-Fi, refreshment tray, etc. (Not many B&B establishments provide bath robes!) Excellent breakfast menu (I do recommend the scrummy scrambled eggs with salmon). Would have stayed longer had our travel plans allowed. Brilliant... More

My second visit with a different friend. Excellent homemade food from friendly staff, in beautiful surroundings. Too many choices of fruit jams to remember ! This lovely place deserves success .. 100% for effort. I don't know anyone who has had bed and breakfast but I would imagine it is a pleasure to stay.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I only do what I believe every tea room or cafe should be doing, I.e. providing proper home baked cakes, bread and preserves. I've baked all my life, if my Kenwood chef packed in or I lost the use of my left hand, what would I do??? More

From the welcome to settling the bill everything was perfect. Comfortable quiet single room, very well appointed bathroom, could have lingered longer in the spacious shower but not really the 'green' thing to do. Breakfast was so good I couldn't face lunch later in the day, bread was a great advert for home cooking. Just a few minutes walk away... More

We stayed only two nights, but the service from Gill and Andy was first rate, we shall certainly be returning soon. From first arriving we were made to feel very much at home, tea and scones with clotted cream and homemade jam were so welcomed. We stayed in room four which was annexed from the main house, it was extremely... More

This is a truly amazing afternoon tea served in the most delightful setting by lovely friendly people. Today's tea was presented on a 3-tier vintage cake stand as follows: of a choice of delicious sandwiches made with homemade bread; tier 2: a generous slice of homemade strawberry and cream cake which was truly divine (over-used adjective that is totally justified... Many thanks for your wonderful review, I appreciate your generous comments very much. Baking is such a big part of my life and something I've done since forever. It gives me so much pleasure to be able to delight tearoom guests with my home-baking. I'm pleased you enjoyed your afternoon tea and hope to see you again soon. More

Had a cream tea here today. I am blown away by the quality! All home made food including the bread. Very rarely an establishment is as good as this one right across the board. Spotlessly clean, beautiful surroundings, very pleasant owner, perfect food. Do not pass this by , you will not better it. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Good... More

There is not a single category that could be marked less than excellent. A real gem of a find. Perfect hosts, room and bed, food and many thoughtful touches including home made delicacies, toiletries and mini fridge. Lovely tea garden (and cream teas!). With our daughter just graduating from nearby Lancaster University we wish we had found this 3 years... More

I stayed 2 nights here while visiting friends and family. Gill and Andrew were excellent hosts and the accommodation was extremely comfortable. Little touches like a homemade cookie and chocolate in the room and fresh milk were an added bonus. The breakfast was first rate and the homemade bread was delicious. Blackpool and the Lake District were only half an... More

Highly recommended. Excellent room. A lovely and calorific piece of homemade gateaux awaited. Very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent. The sausages were obviously carefully sourced. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The whole experience was very positive and put many a hotel to shame. Definitely highly recommended.
