This hotel was clean and reasonably priced. Older structure in nice neighbourhood, walkable to transit, and restaurants. Small, comfortable, functional room, with single bed, duvet and fridge. I did not use the breakfast service (7 euros). It was breads, spreads, cheeses and boiled eggs.

Hmm - I think you get what you pay for. 50 Euros for a double with single occupancy and 7 Euros breakfast. OK here goes ; Hotel : a concrete block, decor inside doesn't look to have had much of an update since the 70s, apart from the breakfast room furniture and the lift. The room : 7th floor. Lift only went to 6th floor, so one floor accessed by staircase. Hall areas and staircases need some maintenance and painting, it's looking scuffed and watermarked in places. The room itself : watermarked on wall behind bed, carpet a bit threadbare in places. Pillows flat and we had to ask for two more. Curtains were very thin and utterly useless on a bright sunny July morning when the sun is up at 5am. Bathroom is perfectly clean but again a bit old fashioned. Breakfast : good mix for 7 Euros. Nice to have some fresh tomatoes and cucumber too. Staff : welcoming and had a good supply of advice, maps etc. Location : 13 mins walk to Altona S Bahn train stop. Altona area had a good mix of shops, cafés and some restaurants. 7 mns to Konigstrasse S Bahn train stop, no shops etc near there. 7 mns to Reeperbahn S Bahn stop - lots of restaus, bars, BUT this is the Red Light District, so if it's not your thing, then choose another stop. Quick train journey into town centre, only appx 15 mins. Looks to be about 15 mins walk to ferry stop across to Airbus Hamburg site too. In summary, if you're only sleeping there, then it's an ok price for a big city like Hamburg, and the location is fine. But it could be so much better with a few thousand Euros invested to improve pillows, curtains and some painting....…

Hotel Staff Altona is an old fashioned hotel with 5 floors of guest rooms. It needs updating, sure, but is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly. Didn't try the breakfast so can't comment on that. There are lots of places to eat nearby. The hotel is quite near Altona station and has a couple of bus stops nearby, too. Easy to get about by bus or the S-bahn. Prices in the hotel are reasonable for a short stay. No kettle in the room so my partner could not make her cups of tea! Daily towel change when we were there. Cleaners daily too. All in all, a reasonably good stay in a reasonably good hotel.

Location excellent, between Altona and St. Pauli. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, very good shower and calm and quiet. There's a TV with loads of channels and free wi-fi and WE COULD SMOKE IN THE ROOM :D ...no complaints at all, it totally done the job for us.

The hotel is in the good location. The area around is calm. Rooms are old fashioned, but for a short stay its just fine. Staff is nice and helpful. There is a Wifi for free and flat screen tv. Hair-dryer did not work though.

Lady at the desk was lovely, greeted us with a warm welcome and was helpful throughout. Room was ok, could be cleaned better. Hotel doesn't look great from the outside and is not too beautiful inside but for anyone looking for a cheap and cheerfull pit stop not 5mins away from reperbahn then I would recommend 😊

The hall is very old fashioned design, perhaps from the 60s, I loved it. Also at the reception barely spoke English, although it wasn't a problem they were nice and friendly. The room who supposed to be a twin, instead was 2 huge rooms with one bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, I rested super well. The room style was minimal/basic, and it was clean. Breakfast disappointing.

I was there 2 times in December 2013 and September 2014. My room was cleaned everyday. They have really good staff. It was 45EUR per night. You can walk Reeperbahn in 5min. You can choose Reeperbahn or Altona metro stations by walking.
