Every now and again it is rather nice to go somewhere that doesn't have a polished marble lobby with glass swing doors and fawning porters. This Hotel is a beautiful villa in a rather smart and quiet part of Hamburg with a lovely garden and parking at the back. The feel is of a smart pre-war villa and the decor... More

Stayed here for 3 nights.easily accessible from Ubahn station.Lovely quirky decoration...slightly old fashioned but thats its charm. Lovely easter decorations too.Breakfast was good value and plenty of choice.Pleasant staff who were only too happy to be of assistance. Only downside was lack of tea /coffee making facilities..but didnt spoil our stay.

The Hotel is located in an old Hanseatic building in Harvestehude. My room was on the top floor. Although being on a busy street - there was hardly a noise from outside. The toilet was a little bit small but it was okay. The personal was very helpful. By the way: A bus stop is right in front of the... More

I stayed here twice in 2014, each time for two nights, in July and November. On both occasions I had a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and they have a lovely little well behaved dog too. The single rooms I stayed in were small but completely adequate in size, and comfortable. The decor is old-fashioned and I... More

We had a lovely but much too brief stay. Not for those who want every modern convenience at hand but perfect for those who want a glimpse of charm and wonderful German hospitality in a beautiful setting. We felt as if we were welcomed guests of dear friends. Traveled with my two twenty something children and they were equally as... More

I am told that this area where hotel Mittelweg is situated is one of those which was not destroyed in the 2nd WW by the allied forces, and that is how its fantastic villas, buildings, mansions and other beauties are still there. Mittelweg-59 is one of them. With 30 rooms maintained in a classical style it feels good to stay... More

Got relocated here after the place I was booked at had over-booked itself. It's a bit out of the way, but then taxis are cheap enough in Hamburg. Comfortable, clean, quiet, and everyone was friendly. Free wifi was a real bonus. Decor is quite old-fashioned, but for a one-night business trip I just wanted somewhere clean and comfortable, which is... More

Due to a family bereavement, I needed a room quickly. I have stayed in this hotel before, gave them a ring and was immediately advised that a room was available. My room was on the 2nd floor, it was comfortable and well maintained. A couple of times I had a problem with the shower, this was quickly fixed. The breakfast... More

We stayed at this beautiful old hotel in November 2010. My husband and I had a nice size room on the third floor. Our son had a small single room off the landing of the grand staircase. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are small but modern. The accommodations include a nice buffet breakfast in their dining room.... More

German friends who live near this hotel made the reservations for us and did us a big favor. The rooms are decorated in a deliberately old fashioned style but with expensive furnishings. The beds, couch, and chairs were comfortable, the lighting good, and the bath area very nice. Like most such hotels in northern Europe, it is not air conditioned,... More
