Booked an impulse flight to Hamburg with Ryanair so booked a nice 4* hotel as a treat. The best thing about the hotel is the fact that it is such a landmark. The location is great, next door to Dammtor bahnhof and in the Planten un Blomen gardens. The city centre shops etc are about a 15 - 2o minute... more

This is a standard business hotel, with nothing in particular to distinguish it, other than the fact that it is high-rise, so some of the rooms (not mine!) will have good views over the city. However, the hotel itself remains stuck in the 1980s, with renovation long overdue - in particular, the bar at the top of the building seems... more

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days in September. The highlight of this property is that it right next door to the main train station. It was great for souvenir shopping and picking up inexpensive meals. There's lots to chose from. The hotel left something to be desired for the price. The rooms are large, but outdated. The... more

I am a frequent business traveler and have never had such an awful experience with a hotel in my 15 year career. The check-in for flights arriving in the morning is unacceptable. Arriving at 9:00 a.m., I was told that the rooms are not available until 3:00 p.m., though they had you complete the check-in forms and take your credit... more

The hotel is close to the city center, walking distance. Tall hotel, easy to find and all. Even doe my GPS's did not agree with the streets ! The check in was quick, no problem there. Room okay, a nice room - bit run-down, but not as bad, as I have seen before. To be said about the hotel -... more

This is a solid 4* hotel: very good location, spacious, nicely-furnished rooms, efficient and friendly service, the works. I gave it a fifth star because the rate I paid, 67 euro per night (breakfast and taxes included), made it a superb cost-value ratio. Previous reviewers commented on a dated, 1970's feeling: I can't agree. The public areas and my room... more

I read it was close to the train station and city center when I booked the room. What I didn't notice is it is not close to the Main Train Station. It is close enough if you don't have luggage with you. Dammtor (correct spelling?) station is right next to the hotel. So if you are able to get off... more

The Hotel is a typical Business hotel. The rooms were very clean and the view of the city was fantasitc. The location is great right by the S-Bahn station and walking distance to the Alster. Buffet breakfasts were very good and offered a great variety of food. more

Nice hotel in a nice location. The room at the 22nd floor had a great view, the breakfast buffet was fine but kind of middle-of-the-road-dullish, and the fitness areas seemed very nice. The hotel is in for a big renovation from the fall of 2008 which will probably remove some of the worn out 1970's feeling that the hotel seems... more
