We were staying in Hamburg between Xmas & New Year struggled to find a decent hotel centrally at a reasonable price hence we chose this. Very quiet street no bars/shops/cafes in street but 5-10 min walk to U-bahn (St Pauli) and top of Reeperbahn (don't be put off as there were perfectly fine bars / restaurants along here) Walls in... more
This is the second time that I have visited this hotel, and once again, the staff exceeded my expectations. This is a smaller "family" run hotel. It may not actually be family run, but it feels that way. It is located across the street from the Hamburg museum, 3 blocks from the DOM fairs and 3 blocks from the Reeperbahn.... more
I spent three nights at this property recently. The location is excellent. You are blocks from the Reeperbahn, and conveniently located at the St. Pauli metro stops. Great location. Walking distance to Reeperbahn, Neuer Wall (shopping), U-Bahn, the harbour etc. Small but clean room with almost brand new bathroom. Private nearby garage for EUR 12.00 per day. more
It's been almost two years since I stayed there....but I just got into the writing online reviews thing now... The hotel was in a quiet place, not very exciting, but the room was nice, clean, and it was in a convenient walking distance to the major attractions (red district, water, shopping area, etc). The hotel has no non-smoking rooms at all. They will gladly take a non-smoking reservation. This made my stay unbearable. Smoke can be avoided by trying to get a room on the street side of the building (though noise will be a problem) as it is away from the open windows of the bar which allow the smoke to drift... more
We stayed here for 3 nights in March and would recommend this hotel to others. As the per the previous review we found the hotel very easy to find. The Holstenwall Hotel is located very centrally to the lively Reeperbhan area of Hamburg. We found it on hotels(-), which also proved to be the cheapest price of all the online booking services.
