We booked a family room at the Wedina, in the Yellow house, for 3 nights. The location is ideal, very near the train station in the lively St. George neighborhood, with plenty of excellent restaurants and cafes. The Wedina staff recommended the Cox Restaurant and the Schmilinsky WineBistro, where we ate some of the top meals of our trip. (There's... More

I stayed for 3 nights. Choose room type urban S. This was double room but used for 1 person. Size of room: small, 2 person with a little larger luggage would have troubles to stay in this type of room 3/5 Location: very good, quiet area, walking distance to central station or to U or S- bahn. Main shopping district... More

I was there so many times in the past 20 years. This is my second home base. Most times it was for business trips, some times with my wife and son as well. It is very close to the Alster river and as well close to the city and main station. The breakfast has a good selection, allways very fresh... More

Hotel Wedina is a rather eclectic kind of hotel. I stayed in the "red" hotel, which has shelves upon shelves of books. The books are in German, but if you read German, they range from poetry to science fiction. And several of the books are autographed, including one from Frank Schaentzing. My room was clean and comfortable. The location was... More

I loved the large multi level room, large bathroom, great water pressure! Very comfortable hotel, friendly staff, and a short walking distance to restaurants, trains, and shopping. Internet needed to be renewed every 24 hours via SMS to my international phone and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.

The staff were pleasant. There is a lot of hype around this hotel, with its themed buildings and celebrity comments. We could only choose 'Urban Living' when we booked, which is in a bright blue building across the road from the main hotel. We were aware there is no lift, but I thought it would be worth it for an... More

It's hard to beat the location, a half block from lake Alster which has a dirt path around its 4.6mile perimeter- a very pleasant run past top hotels, marinas, lovely homes, US Consulate, a park, bridges. If instead of heading to the lake, you walk in the other direction, the Hbf is a 10-min walk. Breakfast won't blow you away,... More

We had a bath tub in our nice room! What a lovely surprise after a long ride on the motor cycle! Our room was small but very, very nice. I loved the breakfast. And the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I'm so glad we stayed at the Wedina for our recent and first visit to Hamburg. The location was superb...a short walk from the train station, and half a block from the pretty lake. The staff were very friendly and recommended a great restaurant, called the Central I believe, right around the corner. Loved the garden and ability to sit... More

We found Wedina to be in a great location to explore Hamburg and within walking distance to the lovely park surrounding Lake Aussenalst The breakfast was delightful and and the beds were comfortable. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate guests individual needs. We would definitely stay there again next time in Hamburg.
