Hotel is located about 20-30 minutes walking from the city center. Public transport is about 400 m away and is limited. As far as I could figure out only bus 109 stops here and it is not running on Sundays or late in the evening... Consider this if you like to go out in the city...

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel, pretty decent room, others of my group had a more spacious room. Good bed and bathroom. Breakfast is plenty to choose from with a great view on the lake. Congress hall was only 5-10 minutes walk. Would stay here again for a next meting

Location - close to the lake, 10 minutes walk from downtown, taxis in Hamburg quire pricey.
Check in/out - efficient

The staff was great and the room was very nice albeit a little dated in terms of modern amenities (no flatscreen etc). Good basic hotel. Hotel is trying to get your money in every moment if they can. Outdated. No WLAN in the room. Only cable and you have to pay EXTRA even for that! If you go to sauna you have to pay extra etc. etc. There are lot of good hotels in Hamburg.
