I stayed at this hotel for a business convention so my own money wasn't at stake, but if it had been and I'd booked here on account of its being a "leading hotel of the world" I ceratinly wouldn't have been happy. As people say, this hotel has faded to three-star level. No way are the bathrooms up to today's... more

When I decided to pay a visit to hamburg, my friend advised me the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski. He mentioned that it was century old hotel that would have the Hanseatic tradition. A century old hotel made me a bit uneasy. But when I went to the hotel all my doubts were dispensed. Firstly its within walking distance from Hbf (Main... more

I was staying here for two nightes. Once -in Hamburg i stayed in the Four Seasons. But now I was told that it is under reconstruction and I was offered "the same". I must admit absolutlyit is "not the same". To my mind this really 2-star hotel wich is for unknown reasons is called 5-star. It is dirty, very old... more

Well, first of all - booking this hotel will teach me that I shouldn't be persuaded by pictures on hotel websites and that I need to check trip advisor comments first! After booking I checked the reviews and was appalled to see the terrible comments made about the standard of the rooms. Hoping that the contributors had been exaggerating I... more

Be careful with the cheap rooms! Be careful, because there are some really horrible rooms in this hotel!!! We booked our stay through an internet site and paid 159 Euros for one night for a couple, with breakfast included. The price was much lower than the normal price at the hotel website but the room we got was equivalent to... more

We stayed at the Atlantic for one (Saturday) night in February. The location is great, right at the Alster Lake and a short walk for the main shopping district, but the hotel itself is a tired and worn down giant. The hotel tries to present itself as elegant, and yes the lobby is impressing, but the hallways and rooms are... more

The grandesse is fading away, as it seems. The lobby is still impressing, but the smile will disappear some minutes later. Furnishing and carpets in the rooms are outworn in many parts, even the corridors leading to our guest rooms need urgent renovation. My room was superior – luckily, after reading the shocking reviews about the economy rooms. The advantage... more

We stayed at this grand hotel between Christmas and New Year, and liked the hotel and the location (lakeside). As you'll see from the picture the room was very big (although it could have been warmer with the sub zero temperatures outside). The foyer, bar and breakfast room are all impressive. The breakfast itself is extensive including fresh fish and... more

I booked the Kempinski Hamburg as I have stayed at other Kempinski properties. This hotel is on the border of Hamburg Mitte and as such about a 20 minute walk from the city hall and the surrounding shopping districts. It is about a 15 minute walk from the main train station. While it is a beautiful hotel, it is unnecessarily... more
