This historic tudor hotel is located in Potsdam outside of Berlin. It provided a relaxing and romantic retreat for my wife and I during our fall driving vacation through Germany, Scandinavia and the Baltic states. Cecilienhof is a popular resort on expansive grounds bordering on two picturesque lakes complete with numerous paths for walking, jogging or biking. A highlight was... More

I stayed here on business. It is a very historic building and the gardens are wonderful, but the rooms are poor. Everything looks very dated, although the room was very clean. This place needs a major upgrade. There is also no bar for a relaxing drink, the staff are not very friendly or accommodating. One night some of our group... More

I stayed her for three nights on business. The hotel is located away from the center of Potsdam in a quiet neighborhood and actually in a park. The hotel has a lot of old charm, but to be honest it needs a facelift, which I heard is coming. My room was very clean and nice, overlooking the park. The bed... More

You can sense the hand of history on your shoulder when you visit this spectacular palace set in the rolling World Heritage parkland of Potsdam's New Park. Churchill, Stalin and Truman met here in the summer of 1945 to thrash out the terms of Japan's surrender - and some say the decor hasn't changed since. However, I found the English country... More

Lovely place to visit. Rooms were decorated well for the time period of the Schloss. What was missing in our room was a safe, a decent sized TV, and an interior additional door lock for nighttime security. Food in the restaurant was good, but very gourmet. Just wanted a few normal choices as well. They needed better signage to find... More

The building is a beautiful 100-year-old palace, where the Potsdam Conference was held at the end of WWII. Most of it was converted to a luxury hotel 30+ years ago, and the accommodations haven't been updated since then. Furniture, drapes, and paint in our two rooms were worn. Bathrooms were small with cramped showers and no tubs. There's no elevator,... More

When we checked in, the receptionist was unfriendly and very rude . The property is very good and located well but needs some cleaning , Bath room floor was sticky and unclean. Overall I would not rate it all that great

Rooms were tired and average but it is really the historical building & pretty location you are paying for. Staff were very helpful & obliging. Must admit that we were quite annoying guests who gave the poor front desk guy a few challenges but he did them all with a smile great patience. BTW you can rent bikes for €12... More

Paid €110 for a single in June. Read earlier reviews and went with one backpack and asked for (got) top floor room facing courtyard. All staff very good. Slept very well. Very quiet and serene in hotel, and on the grounds after 6 pm. Large bathroom and good showers -- this building is almost 100 years old and has been... More
