This friendly hostel with laid back atmosphere is my favourite in Berlin so far! ... There is free wifi, cheap breakfast with good coffee and everything is clean. The location is also great. It's in a quiet street, but only 200 meters to Frankfurter Alle where you find everything from subway/sbahn to all kinds of stores/supermarket/mall and restaurants. Much nicer... More

When we arrived the place was empty was since it's a small hostel you can real feel it. I actually really like this hostel, it was clean, awesome kitchen, good neighborhood etc. Then the internet went out and it was super poorly handled (pretty much ignored). It was out for half our stay. As someone who is backpacking I need... More

Just stayed here. The kitchen is nice and the place is nice and small. It is impossible to sit in the bunk beds as they are very low. The Internet was out for 3 days while I was there and when I asked if they knew when it would be fixed they said that it wasn't there fault and that... More

I stayed there for a few days. It's a very neat hostel for the low price you pay. It is in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. The rooms are clean and neat. Don't bring any bed sheets as it is not allowed due to hygiene issues. It also has a spacious kitchen where you can cook, store, and eat your... More

Very well located hostel in Friedrichstaine. The hostel was nice and clean, with a nice lounge area and big kitchen. The vibe was a little strange though, we were there for 2 nights, and did not meet many people to go and eat dinner or have drinks with. Maybe this is because there are no ‘organised’ events in the evenings,... More

As a starry-eyed New Zealander, I booked 3 nights accomodation here for a quick stay in Berlin. First person I met was Barbara, who had plenty of great advice for stuff to check out. This hostel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only thing I will say is that the bedding is a little complicated to set up... More

Very friendly staff. Very clean. The area is full of places to go out. Bit far from the city center but close to the subway, which brings you to Alexanderplatz in 10 minutes. The only bad point was that we had a room at the front near the street which in the morning was quite noisy. Otherwise it would have been... More

I found this hostel through Tripadvisor – and it looks exactly like the pictures on their website. I staid here for just over two weeks in the four-bedroom dorm. U Inn is beautifully clean, very cosy (after the first day I told people I was going "home" when I headed back after a day of exploring) and the staff were... More

I stayed at the U Inn Berlin for the past week in the single room. Despite the small inconvenience of walking through a 6 bed dorm room to get to the single room (Their inconvenience, not so much mine), I really enjoyed staying in the room. It had a comfortable bed, big window, dresser and desk with chair so it... More

I had a 2 night stay in this hostel. Also, it was my first stay in a hostel ever. For a single room for 33 Euro per Night, i wasn't quite sure about things you gonna think about cheap room, like, how clean their rooms would be, or what kind of manager there would be. But i was quite surprised.... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
