We had a fantastic four night stay in Berlin at the Adina Checkpoint Charlie. The location is very convenient with the Brandenberg Gate and the shops of Friedrich Strasse only a quick 10 minute walk. We enjoyed the restaurants in the Gendarmenmarkt which were only five minutes away. The apartment itself was very spacious. We had both a washing machine... More

I booked these apartments based purely on the reviews on TripAdvisor and was not disappointed. The trip was a surprise for my husbands 40th and having emailed the hotel I requested a quiet room. They replied immediately and were friendly and accommodating. They even arranged for a chocolate cake in our room which was thoughtful. We stayed in a studio... More

Travelling with a child we found it useful to have 2 rooms, sofa bed in the main room and a separate bedroom. Also kitchenette with cooker, electric kettle, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, pots and pans. All very clean, nice bathroom, modern hotel. Spacious and with a Lidl just across the road so we could cater for ourselves and save money and... More

It's a real luxury having an apartment for the price of a hotel room. I didn't expect to have in-room washer-dryer, but it came in handy! Other amenities include mini-fridge, small range, dishes and utensils, 2 TVs (for living and sleeping areas), and in-room safe. Free wi-fi in lobby. Clean, modern, contemporary design. Very comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. Computer in... More

A perfect hotel for families staying in Berlin. The room we booked (family of four) was a one bedroom apartment and it was perfect. Huge living area, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier, table and chairs, sofa bed, large relaxing area with television, double bedroom with television and a balcony. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and... More

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights in August, 2015. Our 4th floor one bedroom apartment came with a king bed, nicely equipped kitchen and a washer -dryer combo hidden in the bathroom. Everything in the hotel is ultra modern and spotless. It took us a while to figure out how to use the appliances properly as all... More

Fantastic, clean and modern hotel in Berlin. We stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of August. The street that the hotel itself is on is pretty dead, there's a Lidl and a few other things on the next street up but if you walk a few minutes you'll be at Friedrichstrasse with its abundance of retail shopping and... Adina Apartments Checkpoint Charlie is walking distance to all of Berlin's major attractions. As the name suggests it is only minutes from Checkpoint Charlie. It is a 20 minute walk to the Brandenburg Gate, Jewish Museum, the Holocaust Memorial, Topography of Terror, Hitler's Bunker and many other WWII historical sights. There are restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the hotel... More

Great service, excellent breakfast. I loved the fact that I even got some laundry done halfway through my trip. Great location in the heart of Berlin. Staff very attentive. If you stay in Berlin this is where you should stay. Central to just about anything in the city.

My wife and I recently stayed here for a few days with our baby and were very happy with the accommodation. The hotel is well-decorated with Australian Aboriginal artwork and we found the staff to mostly be friendly and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable with great kitchen features including a coffee machine (pads). Although we were told to... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
