Nice hotel, single room with a shared bathroom (just for 2 rooms) , small room but comfortable, clean, nice service. Very well located, 25 min by foot from Alexander platz, metro and tram very close, a supermarket just in front, lots of bars and restaurants around, safe suburb, safe hotel.

The hotel is nothing special but totally OK. I always stay there when i'm in Berlin. Prices are cheap and the location is perfect. You'll find a lot of good places for good and cheap food just within 5 minutes of walking. And it's just 5 minutes of walking to the train station. Definitely a good choice!

I paid less than SGD 40 per night and I found that this hotel is a pretty good deal for backpackers. Though I have to share a bathroom with the room next to me, the hotel is clean, smells nice, and nicely heated during the winter. A little bit drawback is that you can only access the Internet on the... More

We stayed here at the end of a Baltic Experience tour. Many have mentioned the location which is great. We didn't stay in the main hostel/hotel (?), but a third floor room around the corner. So for us it was really quiet (ie not on that same road as the reception in the pics). The room was spacious and clean.... More

I had been in West Berlin some fifteen years ago, so this was a great expience. Hotel was clean and comfortable with charming script written on the walls on the room. Furnished in early Ikea. Neighborhood was a bit rough seeming but perfectly safe for a single female. Outdoor cafes just a couple of blacks away. Recommended.!

We were in Berlin for a wedding and chose this hotel/hostel because a group of our friends had booked it as well. I didn't have very high expectations, and it matched those expectations. We arrived 30 minutes before check-in and were allowed to put our bags in our room prior to it being cleaned. Unfortunately the room was only finally... More

Under normal circumstances one could consider this hotel's location it's saving grace. Currently there is extensive work being done on the Berlin train system and once mor the East and West of the city are divided. The hotel has been described as being in a quirky student style area. We saw it in a totally different light. On the short... More

This hotel is very close to a handy S bahn (railway) it is a developing area but can seem a bit rough so I wouldn't flash goodies around. The hotel itself is quite comfortable and the room was very clean and plenty of hot water. Sadly yes, the wi fi only works around reception, which is a nuisance. Breakfast is... More

Chose this hotel as it is close to Astra Kulturhaus, other music venues, public transport, shops etc. We had a double room. I was very impressed overall with the location, the room itself and the value for money (57 euros for the night). The room was surprisingly large with a bar fridge, lounge, TV, comfortable bed, and large windows. The... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
