The manager (an old woman) is so kind. It was a quiete hotel for people who want to have a quiet night. I liked also the turkish restaurant just next to the gate. It will be a good hetl may be next summer bcs now they are renewing the buildings arround.

Well you get what you pay for and this is a budget hotel in Berlin and close to Alexanderplatz, although the tram stop is a few meters down the road you can easily walk into the centre. I stayed here for four nights as i was visiting the museums and other sites. The hotel was easy to find thanks to... More

Location of this hotel is great, close to Alexander Platz/2 stations by tram M4/ and the connection to everything is excellent. The hotel itself is equal to price you pay. Rooms are small, but clean. Toilet and shower on the floor/shared/. Wifi works only down the lobby, never in the room /we stayed on 3rd floor/. No elevator, but nothing... More

Very close to Alexanderplatz but reception only open from 8 to 18, no one speaks english, no wifi in the room and poor in the common areas, shared showers are disgusting, no elevators, no one answers the phone after 6pm so if you lose the keys you're screwed!

Okay, it's basic -- but clean, quiet, amazingly central (in a beautiful neighbourhood and a 10-minute walk to Alexanderplaz) and (when I stayed there in 2013) one of the cheapest places in town. At the time, the staff was very friendly (but didn't speak English at all).

We stayed three nights in this hostel and thought is was average. The receptionist was not very communicative and was not very helpful considering our first visit to Berlin. The beds were ok and the shared bathrooms was clean. We slept over on our last day of visit and she was at quite angry knocking on our door at 11.00... More

I've never met such a rude staff in my life. They ignored us, didn't want to help us and were very unfriendly from the moment we arrived. The room and location on the other hand were good. If the hotel/pension were sold to other people I might go back.

The hostel is in a good position, 15 min walking from ALexander Plaza. You have to do the check in before 18, otherwise you'll be charged of 10 euros for every check-in. The woman in the reception is very unfriendly but she speaks English. You have only one toilet and one shower per floor and it's only good if you... More

Look if you are on a budget and want your own room for the night and a reasonable price this is fine. I found out after booking my room that they don't accept people after 11 - which in my eyes is a major flaw for someone who travels a lot and arrives quite often late at night. I had... More

We had an email a week before asking our arrival time as the desk was shut by 6pm but they could arrange for us to get in if we arrived before 11pm. Thankfully this wasn't a problem for us. Location is convenient as only a 10-15 minute walk to Alexanderplatz. We were told there was wifi but it was so... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
