I was more than pleasantly surprised to walk into Motel One & see how nice it was. The location wasn't bad & our rate included breakfast, which was a smorgasbord of items. The lobby area was super nice & our room was clean, quiet, & comfortable. Couldn't have been more pleased.

This is a hotel best suited to young people. Older people like me will be nervous without a phone in the room. Even a young person might need to summon emergency help while his phone is getting powered up. Apart from that, this is a good economical place to stay. It's right near Alexanderplatz and good public transportation. It's very... More

We had booked a whirlwind tour of Europe for this summer and were trying to be budget minded where we could. Still, I was a little worried about what the Motel One Alexanderplatz would be like. What a pleasant surprise! We walked in to a clean, modern lobby with a friendly staff. The property has an elevator, air conditioning, clean... More

Stayed here for 3 nights for work and it's a lovely hotel for a good price. Love the location as it's very central with lots of shopping and food options around. It's clean and has decent wifi. But do note that there is nothing extra - not even a coffee maker in the room. But if you want, just go... More

We stayed as a group and were lucky enough to be able to get rooms close to each other. Unfortunately my room had broken air conditioning despite management trying to fix it. This was the only reason for not giving it 5 points. The staff were so super friendly and accommodating and we live bed the location as well. The... More

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here, lovely modern décor and spotless. The rooms are smallish but well designed with thoughtful shelves and hidden hanging space. Comfortable bed and quiet at night despite being near the train track. We loved the garden with it's funky lighting and squishy seats, great place to enjoy a drink, as is the bar... More

First of all, I've read a lot of Tripadvisor reviews before settling on this Motel One location, so I already knew about the smaller rooms and the no frill amenities. There is no complaint from me. I also was able to change my booking from one with breakfasts to one without online, without difficulty, based on the reviews that there... More

Hotel is spotless. Very modern with lovely decor. Didn't have breakfast as very limited for the price. Room small but fine for a few days. Wardrobe space just a few shelves and hangers but fine for us. Recommend for location. 5. mins walk from train station. Quiet street. Very impressed. Asked reception staff if there was a printer I could... More

This hotel is well located, so there's the chance to walk everywhere in Berlin-Mitte or even Kreuzberg. Connection to Tegel airport is not direct, first you must take one bus to Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Everything seemed to be very new in the hotel. Breakfast was nice and varied, and in the night we used to chill in the bar or in... More

Few steps away from S and U bahn Alexanderprat, make it very convenient to go anywhere in Berlin. Berlin dom and museums can be walked from the hotel. The room is modern and was not too small, the bed was very comfy. Despite sitting next to railway station, the room was quiet and i got full sleeps. Will definitely stay... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
