We stayed three nights in Hotel Columbia during the Lollabalooza festival and I have nothing to complain. The room was tidy, the reception was open 24 hours, the breakfast was good enough, the staff was polite and in the bed there was a soft and warm eiderdown. The U-bahn station was just opposite the street and also some nice little... More

I really would like to warn you, i did not like my stay at this hotel. It is way too expensive for what you get, or better said ´what you do not get´. This hotel is terrible for several reasons: - Hotel room was not clean at all - Insects in the bathroom - Cold showers - Bad or no... More

The hotel is basic but clean, the staff is kind and the place is good, near a metrostation, in a nice neighbourhood and in a nice town I know for a while (I was in Berlin for the 7th time and still discovering new things)

Great staff very nice and kind people, considering the very strategic position, you can take the metro in 1minute by walk, the price is quite good!! The rooms are small but anyway absolutely confortable, breakfast will be better when become more international and not only in german style, but is ok and the staff is polite. Thanks Luca A

The price reflects the quality fairly well. Our room was small but adequate. Our 'double bed' was two singles pushed together using two single duvets. But we were warm and comfortable. Everything worked and the 12 hours free WiFi was more than enough for our five night stay. Breakfast is a continental style buffet in a lovely sunny room. All... More

The staff is very friendly and polite. The hotel is not close to the center of the city but is really well communicated with public transport. The rooms are small and the decoration is outdated but I thinks is not a big problem, the only issue I saw in the room is that there's not a good light in the... More

A basic hotel with a little bit outdated design and furnishing. The place really needs a renovation, especially the windows. All rooms looking to a busy crossing. When you book, it is clear and obvious. But not obvious, if you close the windows, the noise won’t be decreased in your room and the same time the room starts to get... More

A good backpacker's hotel at most, dark and shabby, no AC, heating or anything, I freezed all night and the cold woke me up the next morning. Of course the rates are interesting but still. I would have changed hotels right away (booked for 2 nights) but I had an event to attend, so I stayed there and changed in... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
