It was great staying somewhere that you could make your own and not another anonymous hotel room that could be anywhere in the world. This was Berlin, that was where I was staying. It was hard to get out see Berlin though, just wanted to stay 'home' but the guide book enticed me out the door and was a great... More

We loved staying at the Miniloft. The apartment was stylish and cleverly set out. It was a lovely place to return to at the end of each day. The location is excellent. We were able to walk to the sites in both West and East Berlin. The management at Miniloft also provided a most useful guide which set out walking... More

Excellent choice – stylish, comfortable flat that had everything two adults needed for a week in Berlin. Helpful on-site staff. Ideal, quiet location in Mitte – great restaurants nearby and a good supermarket. Easy walking to major sites, museums, galleries. Very highly recommended!

What a great experience. Our family of four stayed in an extroverted loft for 5 nights in late March. From check in to check out, it exceeded our expectations. The loft was more than spacious enough for the four of us (each child having his/her own sofa bed) and was well designed and laid out. The location is superb. Half... More

My stay at the Miniloft was flawless. It was ideally situated, surrounded by great places to eat, a nearby grocery store, easy walking distance to public transportation, and all of this was immediately clear to me because of the handsome Miniloft guide tailored to the needs of guests. We took several of the dining recommendations and were thrilled. The owners... More

Getting the keys to one of the lofts is like moving into a new town. At home within minutes, easy to come and go, style like a place I'd be happy to call home. Altho I could have done my homework beforehand, I hadn't. I hadn't worked out where to go for archi-tourism, brekky-like-a-local or transport options. The homegrown guide... More

Stayed at the loft a week ago. I love it so much. It is very stylish, clean, contemp, minimalistic, warm, central, complete. I would want to move in here and call it my home. Love the way the owner made old and new work together so well.

We were excited about staying in a well-conceived building. However, upon arrival found the interior, although clean, bland in comparison to the external structure. The shower head fell down a few times during use which was annoying. We were given 2 single duvets for a queen size bed. This showed a lack of thought for the guests. The mini-guide is... More

Wonderful space for your stay in Berlin. Although not as central as some places in Mitte it's only 1.5 ks from Brandenburg Gate and on new team line that goes to railway station a short walk away. Needs good coffee machine then ticks every box. I didn't find out about rooftop until reading review in mag after I left!

We spent a month based in Berlin at mini loft over the Christmas New Year period. We had an extroverted loft which was plenty of space for the two of us. In terms of location and convenience, it's very very good. Easy to get around from here and lots within close walking distance. Having the convenience of the laundry and... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
