We are full time independent travelers and have been on our journey for 5 months…….so we have stayed in numerous hotels. We use online reviews, ratings, location, price, & amenities in our selection like most people. The Ellington met our criteria, so why is it disappointing? It has a sterile vibe. In a 4 night stay, it took us a... More

I'm really sorry that you did not like our Hotel. But we use your comment for questioning our service and standards every day. The open bathroom, prices and all our services are published on our webpage. The Internet is basic internet - free of charge, otherwise we offer highspeed internet as well with a charge - this is common in... More

The Ellington Hotel, located within 10 minutes walk of the Zoo station and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in the western centre of Berlin is a fine Bauhaus style building and is furnished in the beautifully simple elegance of that style and with a theme of jazz music running throughout. The name of the hotel and its restaurant being taken... More

I have been here several times and I keep wanting to go back when I'm in Berlin. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and a lovely garden which unfortunately is not as well visited by the guest it seems. Nice bar and good breakfast. Close to KaDeWe and 20 min by bike to east Berlin.

The Ellington Hotel is very centrally located on a street between Ku'damm and Tauentzienstraße. The rooms have a minimalistic but elegant interior and furniture. My room had great light due to the long window front (you gotta love the old double windows). The bathroom are with sink and shower is open to the sleeping room. This is a nice idea... More

Thanks a lot for your comment! Our service and front office team tried to give their best last week during the fashion week. We are very proud of our motivated team. Thanks as well for the note regarding the bathroom-treatments. Kind regards from Berlin! More

The hotel is in a great location. Most of my negative feelings about this hotel come from the check in process. It is a very large hotel and we arrived at 1445. Check in was 1500. They would not let us check in and made us stand there and wait for fifteen minutes. This seems preposterous to me. They were... More

I'm really sorry that you did not feel comfortable at our Hotel. We always try to give our best! Of course it is possible to check in earlier then 15 o clock, if we have the rooms available. We were fully booked the night before, so we could not guarantee an earlier check in time. Im sorry that you have... More

It's very simple to say that if you have the money this is a great place to stay. Rooms are excellent, food is out of this world, service is very good, breakfast is a perfect start to the day. The very worst thing about the place is that parking is limited and if their car park is full, the next... More

This hotel is in a very nice location with many shops and restaurants. It has history, specially for jazz lovers, but it ends there. From the moment you approach the front desk you get the feeling you are not welcome there. The staff at the reception desk avoid your eyes and in a robotic manner tell you your room number... More

stylish hotel and rooms. Staff Helpful. However rooms were small (and we got an upgrade), bathroom facilities were not separate from bedroom which is not a good idea. Only basic toiletries supplies. Breakfast was good but at 20E expensive by Berlin standards - go somewhere else locally for breakfast.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
