staying at the Ellingtin leaves a feeling of hotek management being a little bit too cheap, wrecking what could be a much better experience: - pay for WiFi in this day and age? EU roaming is cheaper - all-in-one shampoo and shower gel rather than seperates - really thin towels, and not enough - if curtains were 3 inches longer... More

Not sure, if this hotel deserves 4stars. It's an old hospital I guess so the interiors are quite interresting, but the rooms (I had a single) are too small and strange. Everything was clean, friendly stuff and a good breakfast. But the overall feeling was neutral. Yes, and there is the good location. For a one-night stay OK, but for... More

We stayed at the Ellington for a weekend in October 2012 ( took me a while to remember to post teh review. . We chose the hotel because of it's great history and classic design. We stayed in the penthouse ( an upgrade via email to the hotel). The service we received pre-arrival was very professional and all of the... More

Had our wedding at this hotel and it was amazing. Service was very professional and courteous. We had a mix party of English and German speaking people and the staff was able to perfectly accommodate. Catered food was amazing as well. Stayed overnight in the tower suite and it was amazing, very spacious (for Europe!) and the amenities were great.... More

We stayed for2 nights last week and were really impressed with the hotel. In fact, no complaints actually. Fabulous building, understated and elegant. The Reception staff are very professional and polite. We booked a standard superior room which was worth it as reading some TA reviews it sounds like the basic rooms are very small. All white interior, stocked minibar,... More

For people who love clean design and a nice atmosphere. The staff is very service oriented and helps wherever they can. Rooms have now wooden floor which is much nicer than the original grey carpet they used to have. That's a big plus. Unfortunately no good working space in the room, that's a big disadvantage.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Ellington for a few days and although it's a fairly central location in Berlin the (basic) rooms are very small. We had a standard room which included two twin sized bed pushed next to each other. This wouldn't have been an issue except it kept splitting apart in the middle due to them... More

Personally I much prefer staying in Mitte, the old west just doesn't have the character of Mitte and further out east. The hotels rooms were tiny. 2 people sharing is almost impossible. There is no privacy and no space to unpack or move around. The rooms also smell of cigarette smoke or chemicals. We did complain but they couldn't move... More

Only the juices ar enot fresh, that's a pitty. There is free wifi for one hour, you get a code. Since we live in... More

Small but clean room, solid breakfast, friendly staff etc., nothing extraordinary but if you're looking for a place to bunk at night while spending the day exploring Berlin this is for you. It's placed perfect, both for shopping, eating, public transportation to the center of Berlin or if you want to take a quiet walk in Tiergarten. The WiFi is... More
