Good price, super friendly customer service, I was almost 10 days there. Very welcoming and friendly staff and management. Since i never had hostel experience, i felt shock in the 10 bed rooms, however, later i move to a 6 bed room and met very nice group of people all over the world and it went pretty good. Of course,... More

This hostel was a lovely cosy home for me and my girlfriend for an entire month when we moved to berlin before we found an apartment! i would never have imagined staying at a hostel for a whole month but the schlafmeile was so wonderful and accommodating that it was a pleasant experience. we met some wonderful people who are... I always expected the use of hostels to be interesting and this one did not disappoint. While the hostel cannot control the guests there seemed to be a theme here of rude guests who were very cold, selfish and didn't embrace the hostel experience. That aside, while the room was of an adequate standard there were no lights in the... More

Yes it's cheap, yes it has a good location and yes it is crawling with bed bugs.. Unless you like being stung at night by creatures that live of your blood I would highly recommend you not to go here. Please pay a little more and be sure you can sleep at night.. Besides the 'being eaten at night'-problem there... More

I was in the Schlafmeile Hostel with 3 friends for one weekend. The hostel is cheap and takes about 40 minutes to get to the center of Berlin (by S-Bahn). However, even though we are not very picky travelers (this is a hostel so don't expect 5 star hotel), there are some things to take into account: -The most important... More

I had a private double room for a few nights here and it was stunningly good value. A nice room with a comfy (big!) bed. Really great location for the Friedrichshain area with lots of fun studenty bars and restaurants, though if you want to be more centrally based then perhaps a little far. Very friendly staff.

i really liked staying in this hostel. For 32€, we got private room for two. Room was clean, with its own bathroom. Entrance to the room is directly from the street and was pretty noisy though (friday night), so i recommend to take earplugs.

I stayed here with 3 other friends. We arrived to very friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Our room of 10 mixed was clean and very spacious. We were given lockers for our bags free of charge. The kitchen was good and provided lots of cooking utensils. you just had to trust other guests washed up well, or wash everything... More

This place is terrible! Completely unhygienic. I stayed for one night, woke up the next morning to find a bed bug crawling across the bed I slept on. This place is disgusting and should be shut down. I currently have a million bites all over me and I'm itching incessantly. Save your money and your dignity and go elsewhere. Completely... More

The reception is in the Lindsays bar so you have to wait for the bartender/cook/reception guy to have time of you. Then he counts how much you need to pay : Surprise! you need to pay 4€ for the sheets but that's a scam : when we said we had sleeping bags, the guy told us "ok, don't pay for... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
