The hostel takes place in a nice neighborhood close to lots of restaurants and clubs around. Breakfast with views to the river! Public transport in front. About personal and staff: friendly, comfortable and easy going.

This hostel type hotel is very central and close to airport U bahn. Friendly helpful staff and clean room. Trees everywhere so pretty. Generous open buffet breakfast very reasonable in price. Free coffee and internet in reception. Bike to rent. Lovely cafes and interesting places nearby all within walking distance.

I booked a private room for one and was given a room with sex bunk beds all to myself and a TV that didn't work. It was strange, but fine. The drain in my shower was clogged and the shower head loose on its rod. I requested service, and was told a technician would come in an hour, but I... More

The most cozy hotel I lived. Spacious room, close to the tram station and friendly people and staff. It is a miniature of Berlin and Germany as a whole. Besides, when the room is full, the receptionist offers us to live in a bigger room, not a smaller one.

We had confirmed booking at Aletto Schoneberg but it was full when we arrived. The receptionist arranged for us to stay at Aletto Kreuzberg. A bus full of students had just arrived, and I was not optimistic. True enough, they were loud and rowdy. The paper thin walls didn't help. Barely slept for 2 hours. The lift was noisy. We... More

Travelers are raving about these Berlin hotels

This is the worst hotel ive ever been to the breakfast was rubbish the cornflakes tasted like cardboard, we had noisy neighbours and we were blamed for there actions, they were dressing up as terrorists. We were told to leave at 11 at night and told we had 15 minutes to get out. The rooms are of date. The place... More

The hostel is good, clean enough. The breakfast provided is ok. The location, i think, is pretty good. It is no more than 15 minutes from everything you would like to see, thanks to the U line. The first time I went to Berlin I got a better deal, by the way I think this place has to be considered

This hostel was very clean, and very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel last year, it was brilliant for a college trip which i went on. If i would go to Berlin again, i would defiantly stay here. The morning breakfast was continental l which was really good

This hostel is well located, close to the U-Bahn station (3 to 5 mins), not very far away from the city's main attractions. There are also many cafes and restaurants nearby. If you can walk for some 10 minutes you'll can even find a supermarket. The room is clean, with comfortable bed and pillows and a neat WC and shower... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
