Compared to the other hostels that I stayed in throughout Europe this one was probably the worst. Whilst this hostel had a really good location to the central city and its major sites I had a few issues with the place. The wifi was absolutely terrible - non-existant in my room (3rd floor) so several trips had to be made... More

I stayed here with a friend and we really liked this place. Location is good, a 20 minute walk from the Brandenburg Gate, with S-Bahn nearby. It's a really cool building being an old monastery and the big hall is great as a communal area - tables, snooker, drinks, all really nice. The people at reception were friendly and helpful.... Got a single en suite room and the room was in a great condition and clean also. The pillows were amazing! The hostel itself seems quite large (can be easy to get lost if your room is a long way away, but you will get used to it after a bit). The main lobby has good facilities - you can... More

First of all, I hope that Three Little Pigs will grow to become a better hostel and giving their best services to their future guests, As for me, I spent 2 days in this hostel and I find everything convinient enough as it is strategically located close to available public transportation including buses and trains. Im also pleased that they... More

I will admit when it comes to accommodations I am normally somewhat snobbish. However, this trip I tried something new and stayed at a hostel. One of my best experiences while traveling. The staff was great, and I met some great people. I would highly recommend this hostel. I will be staying again on my next trip to Berlin later... More

I loved the common room/reception area. Nice atmosphere and lovely staff! Nice but not very talkative roommates (I was in a dorm of 8), and I felt bad for them because I would come to the room late at night and disturd their sleep. I was constantly scared that my laptop or other valuables would get stolen, so I always... More

Stayed here when travelling solo to Berlin in December. The hostel is in a decent area its quite quiet but only a 5 minute walk to the u-bahn and about 15 minutes to Potsdamer Platz. The building is a former nunnery its and old building and is quite nice to look at although once you step Inside it retains a... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
