We spent 3 nights here in early December. Berlin was grey and cold, but fascinating - we should have stayed much longer. The hotel is excellent - small, spotless, friendly, slightly quirky, with almost the feeling of a welcoming club. It's also very well located by the Ku'Damm with its shops, plus close to the buses, U and S Bahns,... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in December, we chose it after the great reviews on Tripadvisor and weren't disappointed. The hotel was lovely, our room was stylish and comfortable with lots of character. The hosts Roman and Aurelia were welcoming, friendly and very helpful and knowledgable. Roman recommended some great restaurants that we tried during our... More

We spend four nights here around the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and loved it. Roman and Aurelia are splendid hosts, and extremely helpful too. The pension is really the second floor of an old Berlin building still used for offices on the lower floors and apartments above. It was converted to a hotel just a... More

The hosts Roman and Aurelia were the perfect hosts whilst we were on a 5 night visit to Berlin. Nothing was to much to ask. Even provided details of recommendations for local restaurants beyond Savigny Platz. Continental breakfast was very good, with a wide selection of meats, 4 types of cheese and fresh salmon not forgetting a good selection of... More

I loved the interiors of the place. Very artistic and creative. The service at the place is excellent and I was impressed with the way they handled our queries and provided assistance all along. Food was wonderful even though there a whole lot of restaurant options around the place. Tastefully done rooms which are spacious , clean and comfortable. Loved... More

First, I agree that Roman and Aurelia are wonderful. Aurelia welcomed us with refreshments when we arrived (water for me and juice for the children) and they are both happy to chat with you and share their knowledge of local restaurants and activities. Based on his own children, he recommended we visit the Technikmusem. It had a superb exhibition of... More

We enjoyed our stay at Hommage de Magritte. The hosts are incredibly hospitable and generous. The location is central, yet quiet. Rooms are clean and of good standard. The breakfast has a good selection and you can enjoy it untill 11. Very conventient if you want to sleep late. We highly recommend this lovely and charming hotel.

We simply want to thank again the owner couple for their great and honest hospitality. You made our stay in your wonderful little hotel a very pleasant and personal one. Being it the classy and very clean room, the complete and tasty breakfast buffet, your various individual tips to neighberhood cafes and restaurants, sightseeing and getting around; everything was just... The hotel is conveniently located in a quiet side street, just off the Ku'damm. There are plenty of restaurants in the neighboorhood, and both S- and U-bahn are a few minutes away. Breakfast is fine, and we enjoyed people-watching from the balcony of the breakfast room. The hosts are friendly and helpful. What makes the hotel memorable are the Magritte-style... More

I can't say enough about our stay at Hommage Margritte. The welcoming we received from Roman, Aurelia, & Michael was outstanding. Our first trip to Berlin and they could not have been more helpful in making reservations for dinner and helping us navigate around their city. The space itself was designed with style...each detail was carefully planned and it shows.... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
