Located in the best part of town (Prenzlauer Berg) this is a great place to stay in Berlin because it's quiet, for a good nights rest, clean surroundings, and colorful lights. Outside you are surrounded by wonderful, innovate restaurants, shops, landmarks and parks. Would highly recommend staying a few nights in the best area in the best hostel. Staff were... More

We didn't actually stay at the hostel but we coordinated with the hostel for over 2 weeks trying to work out how it would work and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I wouldn't have expected such service but they were great.

Nice and clean place to stay alone for couple of days to observe Berlin. Nice shower, clean towels and bed. I even saw rabbits playing around the trees outside the hotel. But you must book ahead, since it's quite popular.

Very comfortable bed and super clean room and shared bathroom. The staff were also very helpful with info on how to get from place to place. The hostel is well located with many good eating places nearby. Good value.

I've stayed in this hostel twice, most recently back in July. It had been five years since my previous visit and I was pleased to see that the standard had not slipped over the years. The hostel located in a trendy part of town with an alternative, boho vibe, filled with quirky shops and plenty of restaurants and bars. Links... More

Aurora hostel was the perfect place to set up camp for a weekend away in Berlin with a friend/partner. The staff are great, the Hostel is in a great location - really close to Eberswalder Strasse U-Bahnhof and also Konnopkes Currywurst stand.... Which is a must. I really enjoyed my stay. So much so I've booked to go again next... More

The hostel was very attentive (access and reception) and supportive (finding a nice restaurant). Both the room and the bathroom were well cleaned. No noise disturbance during the night. The area is nice with lots of restaurants and coffee shops and acces to Berlin centre quick and easy.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
