We had prepaid 2 nights. We checked in, saw the room and immediately left and booked a hotel room at the Ibis around the corner. We walked away from the euros 220 we paid - it was that bad. My relatives had nicer rooms at Auschwitz. Maybe if I was 18 and backpacking through Europe it would have worked; but... More

It is not a bad choice, if you have to sleep only one night in Berlin before going with a bus, as it is right near the main bus station. Also the connection is good, as there is a S-Bahn station. They provide breakfast: two kinds of cheese, some ham, corn flakes, bread, tea and coffee, nothing special, nothing to... More

Arrived at Berlin ZOB early in a morning and found this place. Was pretty old looking but I like old looking places. Staff was super helpful (didn't have any bad experience), they let me check in early and were good throughout the stay. Hot water, toiletries; Breakfast is the typical fare you get in Europe. I moved to city center... More

I didn't expect too much from this hotel as the reviews weren't the best and the price was quite cheap for Berlin. I was pleasantly surprised, though. Although the hotel was in a pretty old apartment building and really close to S-Bahn station and a road with huge traffic, the windows were well soundproofed. The room wasn't in the best... More

very good location, free and quick wifi, all right breakfast... just the walls were rather thin, which could be a problem for some... it is not great, but you get exactly what you pay for and it really is easy to get to the centre from there

An unhelpful reception, a fake WiFi and a really run down building are the highlights of this accommodation! No reception for the phone, due to the location of the building, together with no WiFi connection puts you in a real black hole! After one day of WiFi disconnection, the reception suggested that I try later! Maybe after my check out?!... More

this is more a pension than a hotel with very old amenities, basically the second floor of an apartment building was remodeled into rooms . however the check in was swift, they did not ask for a key deposit, the room was clean, the bathroom was compact but with good water pressure, towels changed daily. basic breakfast, no vegetables, but... This hotel was absolutely fine for what I needed, however some people may have been disappointed. The staff spoke little or no English, which is fine – we are in their country so we speak their language, however this may put some people off. A few wrong turns on the train meant we didn't arrive at our hotel till very... More

We stayed for 6 nights and I didn't see a single smile from any staff! And don't believe in the pictures, the hotel definitely doesn't look like them. The staff doesn't speak English - all questions I made, they answered me in German. From S-Bahn is around 30 minutes to city centre.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
