We stayed at the Mercure Hotel Chateau Berlin for five nights in a quad room (a party of four). The hotel is located 50 meter from Kudam st. The room was big and clean , with WiFi and air conditioning. The service was good and breakfast is excellent . Bottom line- great hotel !!!

It's a pretty anonymous place between a restaurant and supermarket, we actually missed it completely when looking the first time. Our room was fine, air-con worked very well in the 35° heat and the view outside on the 3rd floor was good and very quiet even facing the street. It's no way a 4 star hotel, 3 star is about... More

We couldn't fault the hotel. The Premier room we had was very spacious, large bathroom, a nice balcony overlooking the street and the Air Conditioning in the room was good because it was very warm and muggy. The breakfast which was included in our package was very good a large selection of choice from cereal to meat. The Manager and... More

I stayed here in a double room with my sister and friend. The room was small for three people, but clean and practical. The pull-out bed was uncomfortable. Area was quiet and just off the very affluent Kurfuerstendamm. It was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go from here, so was a good base. Hotel and surrounding area was... More

First impression of this hotel was great: on a quiet side street. So wrong.. in the morning I was woken up by the delivery trucks delivering to thhe supermarket next door. Although very close to all the transport, the hotel was very far from the main sites. The staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful. No free breakfast and no fitness... More

Here for a 10 day stay for business. This was my first trip to Berlin, but I spent a lot of time out and about the city. 1. WiFi was spotty and weak. Very frustrating. 2. Requested non-smoking room prior to arrival and got one; weekend housekeeping staff smoked on floor or in stairwell and stunk up hallway, but room... More

The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. The hotel is very clean and the room was comfortable. One of the best extras is the free and good wifi. On the other hand, the location of the hotel is not the best. In order to visit the landmarks of Berlin or even to go out to... More

The hotel Mercure Chateau is good, good location about 50 meters from the center of K'udamm. Room is big, shower is good, nothing to tell much about. As I've said very basic... buffett breakfat was good with a big variety. Public transportaion is a bit of a problem, as U-Bahn no. 1, which is the closest to the hotel does... More

The checkin was slow and very unfriendly. The room conditions, were old and tired. The hotel needed a major renovation. It reminded me of a no star hotel that I stayed 30 years ago. The staff could not speak english and could not advise on any issue. I was not offered a drink on arrival

Please take this review to heart - I had read Dave's one star review but dismissed it and oh did I regret it so so so very much. This hotel has serious smell, smoke, noise, cleaning and service issues!!! 1. The smell: strong sulphur smells come out of all pipe work. The cleaners close all traps so you likely won't... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
