Please take this review to heart - I had read Dave's one star review but dismissed it and oh did I regret it so so so very much. This hotel has serious smell, smoke, noise, cleaning and service issues!!! 1. The smell: strong sulphur smells come out of all pipe work. The cleaners close all traps so you likely won't... More

We stayed in Mercure hotel chateau Berlin in September. Hotel's location is basically on Kurfürstendamm st which is the center of West Berlin. There are a lots of shops and restaurants nearby and transportation is two min walk. Hotels staff is very friendly! Hotel is clean, rooms are and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay there and would defiantly go... More

Spacious room with two good beds (one was a sofa that was turned into a bed) for 2 grownups and two children. We didnt try the hotels breakfast. Toilet facility was nice with a bathtub. Good value for money, would definately stay there again.

This review is ridiculously overdue (Nov 2013) and confirms the unjust trend of being faster at reporting a bad experience rather than a good one. Pledging guilty from start, I proceed acknowledging it COULD be, because we consciously feel an obligation to warn fellow-travellers on traps out there and unconsciously try to keep the really good ones for ourselves –... Stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting berlin for first time. Arrived at midnight and found it fairly straightforward to find from schonefeld airport. The hotel is located off the busy shopping street of the k'dam and in close proximity of the s-bahn which makes it easy to access city centre at all hours. Breakfast not included but we ate... More

As is it possible that in an hotel there is not a blanket, for double bed? It was just hilarious! So why we booked for 2 ppl? At our request the Answer was straight and clear: don't have! But how so sure even without checking? The only good thing that the rooms are clean and the bathroom was new.

Rooms are clean and huge, even by American standards. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is a reasonable 15 Euros. The hotel's single elevator is an antique from 1966. Wi-Fi is free but abysmal--slow, drops connection frequently, difficult to connect. Location is very convenient for public transportation, shopping, restaurants, bars, etc.. Would have given 5 stars if the... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
