You pay for what you get in Berlin (most places in the world realistically). A comfortable, small room with nice beds and clean lining. Smelly shower and stuck doors but no deal breaker. Good choice of breakfast foods (self serve). Hot or cold - it all tasted yummy. Morning coffee in a jug sucked, but there is a Starbucks outside,... More

Staff were very friendly. The hotel was in a great location, close to public transport in all directions. Room was very impressive for the price paid. Bathroom did have a funny smell and shower door was abit stuck. But other then that no complaints!

Very modern hotel with clean warm rooms. Excellent location for doing the sights in Berlin......we walked everywhere from the door of the hotel. Free wi fi a bonus. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, only downside was our request for gluten free bread had not been acted upon, to be fair I had e-mailed well in advance, probably should have given... More

The location of this hotel is ideally situated just around the corner from one of the Berlin underground stations; part of the wonderfully integrated Berlin transport system (underground, suburban / regional train, tram and bus). From the hotel, getting quickly into the heart of the city or to any of the satellite zones is very easy. This has to be... More

Room was tiny but comfy. Very clean. Out wifi was fast, but perhaps the hotel was not full. Nice people in the front desk. Very close to the metro station. Has several museums very close too. Only a few meters from check point Charlie. The emoloyees made good suggestions as far as areas to visit and restaurants. They provided maps... More

During five weeks travel around Europe, my wife and I and two friends stayed for two nights at the hotel. We can honestly say that it ranks amongst the best we have stayed in and was also the most reasonable in price. The hotel is literally metres from Check Point Charlie and remnants of the wall as well as other... More

I stayed here 27/12/14 until 3/1/15, with my boyfriend. The hotel is pleasant, warm and clean. When we first arrived, the man at the desk could not understand much English and it was a struggle to communicate. When we arrived in our room we realised the shower was broken, it was not attached to the wall but just hanging off.... More

We picked a hotel which we thought would be central as we wanted to be within short walking distance to the main sites and we were not disappointed. Checkpoint charlie and the berlin wall 3D experience museum were right on our doorstep and the Brandenburg Gate was only about 20min walk. The hotel itself was very clean and modern, in... More

I have stayed in better travel lodges! This hotel claims to be a 4 star nonetheless, I wouldn't rate it any higher than a 3. The rooms did not include basics I.e tea and coffee making facilities, spare blankets/pillows etc. The maid service was poor - I.e everyday we returned the beds were poorly made and there was always rubbish all... I thought personally the hotel was in a good location, we walked everywhere and got to see all the main sites, so not sure what people are going on about, dissappointing to see that there wasn't any teas and coffees in the room which was a hassle, wifi worked most of the time for me apart from a couple of... Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
