The service here is fantastic. Welcome gifts are given in your room on arrival (see photo section) and your every need is catered for. If you need something any member of staff would be more than happy to do it with a smile on their face. There is a huge choice of food for breakfast from cheese to fresh fruit... More

If you want a top end hotel in Berlin I would recommend the Hotel de Rome over the Adlon. Everyone, and I mean everyone on their staff is extraordinary. You are greeted every time and feel at home. Rooms are very spacious as are bathrooms. Nice gym. The 4th floor terrace is delightful and offers a nice city view. It... More

The rooms at this hotel will not disappoint, they are large and well appointed. The staff cannot do enough to make your stay wonderful My granddaughter became ill, they helped make all arrangements to help us with trains and flights.

An amazing hotel in Berlin. I cannot wait to come back and stay. One of the best hotels I have stayed in. I travel a lot, so this is high praise. I would highly recommend the hotel for discerning travelers who want great service, a excellent hotel, and a centrally located place to stay.

This hotel exceeded all of my expectations. The service was outstanding. Every employee we came in contact with, especially those at the Concierge Desk and in the restaurant, couldn't do enough for us. Our room was enormous by European standards, with very high ceilings and a luxurious bathroom. It overlooked a quiet courtyard and the Cathedral of St. Hedwig. The... More

I would not hesitate to recommend this superlative hotel. Not only is its off beat decoration, brilliant location and completely charming and helpful staff make your stay memorable, but you start the day with what must be one of the best breakfasts in Berlin!

First class experience with the team at Forte de Rome! All needs taken care of at a stylish and very comfortable hotel located in a prime location. Staff and hotel amazing with kids of all ages. The food/drinks in the bar, restaurant and rooftop terrace (great views) are top notch.

Stayed at the Hotel de Rome to have short ways to the museums. The good: location and the restaurant The bad: surrounded by construction sites (June 2015), interior looks like from the mid 90s (but was already back then outdated). Amenities, tv and light control are not up to international standard for a place that charges you 670 euros a... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
