Comfortable well-located hotel with attractive rooftop bar. Tariff on the high side compared with other 5 star establishments. Excellent concierge. Deluxe room very comfortable. No tea/coffee facilities. Attractive indoor pool.

This is an Excellent hotel in a great location for exploring Berlin. The staff were really friendly and the room was great.Breakfast is excellent, with a help yourself buffet and a choice of hot breakfasts to order - I'd definitely visit again. The roof bar was lovely when the sun was shining! A beautiful city, well worth a visit.

The staff is near perfect! The location is superb. Only imperfection is the lack of coffee and tea in the room. (why should this review be at least 200 characters?, why should this review be at least 200 characters?)

We stayed with friends and our little dog for 2 nights in this beautiful hotel and enjoyed it a lot. The whole staff was very friendly and profesional. We booked standard double rooms and received an upgrade to ther junior suite with no additonal cost. We spent a lot of time in the hotel- and roof top bar and enjoyed... More

This is really one of the best hotels, we ever stood. The room was huge, high ceilings, wonderful comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, very clean, calm - simply Superior Class. We had dinner in the restaurant and had a wonderful time. Tuna Steak, T-Bone-Steak, sensational wine and the service was extraordinary good. Breakfast was also very good. The only thing we... More

We had a wonderful stay. The room was lovely and the service was spectacular. The only less than wonderful note was that the only option for breakfast was the huge (and quite expensive) buffet, when all we care to eat at that time of day is a continental (roll, fruit, coffee) option. wonderful stay

I researched extensively for a centrally located and well designed hotel. It boiled down to Adlon and this hotel. I'm glad I chose Hotel de Rome because it made our holiday a 5-star holiday. Impeccable service, stylish, great breakfast, powerful shower and you could walk to all the major sights. We walked everywhere except to the ballet in Schiller Theatre.... More

This oasis in such a hectic city is refreshing and calming. The lobby is massive and welcoming with several couch areas and a calming feeling that makes you feel like you should be whispering. There is a nice bar/lounge that serves great cocktails, try to Berlin mule with local vodka. If there lobby isn't quite enough there is a beautiful... More

I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel de Rome for 4 nights a few weeks ago and overall I was very impressed. The room was clean and updated, with all the amenities one would need for a business or vacation stay. The maid service was also completely on top of things, coming twice a day (once to clean... Surprised because it is Germany and it is supposed to be a good hotel. Internet connection is worst than bad. Not very useful if you have to send big emails with attachment or use Skype. They offer a free and a paid connection. Both of them are really slow and not useful for working. Very frustrating.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
