This hotel is located excellently with so many sights within walking distance. Rooms are reasonably large, clean and in good shape. Also has some excellent facilities, such as gym and sauna. We had a courtyard room and it was very quiet, which was much appreciated. However, for a 'four star superior' hotel felt some things were lacking. For starters there... More

We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Berlin and the hotel Melia Berlin. We stayed for 4 nights and definitely recommend it. It is ideally located as a base to explore. It is right next to the station so easy to reach from the airport (although the train system leaves a lot to be desired and we had... More

We are so impressed with the service and set up of this hotel. We are a group of 20 with elderly and youngster stayed 3 nights in this beautiful hotel after a two weeks cruise. We have a lots of luggages and require great deal of assistance from the staff, they were always pleasant and efficient. Guides for places to... More

Me and my boyfriend visited in August 2014. The melia was a great base for spending our days touring around Berlin. The hotel is in a great location with plenty bars and restaurants near by. The train station is a stones throw from the hotel making it easy to get around if you get tiered of walking. The rooms were... More

Exceeded expectations in every respect. Staff, service, food, cleanliness. Could not find fault in any area. Breakfast buffet was unbelievable, the choice of food was vast, the only problem was what to have. I unreservedly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

This is a very good hotel with great location. The metro is just 30 meters from it, has supermarket right there, next to train station and goos shops. Rooms are comfortable and clean. We didn't eat at the hotel, as there are plenty of options in the street. We will come back!

We have just got back from our stay at Melia Berlin. We have to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. The room was very spacious, kept tidy and was just lovely. The staff were all very pleasant as well. However, a few things to make people aware of. Don't be fooled by the 'free' WiFi. It is... More

Stayed at the Meliã Berlin for 4 nights for a Berlin city break. The Meliã is handy for all the main sights, being a 5-10 minute walk to Museum Island, 20 mins to Berliner Dom and max 30 mins to the TV Tower, all east of the hotel. To the west, it's a 15 mins walk to the Reichstag and... More

As a Melia Rewards member you get (as a birthday present) the privilege of spending two nights for the price of one. Of course you select one of the more expensive properties to maximise the advantage! This year we stayed in Melia Berlin, which is an excellent hotel in all respects. With the discount it was really cheap (but prices... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
