We had a really pleasant stay at Melia. It was comfy, clean and they had great customer service. We used the gym facilities which were kept in good condition. The location is fantastic, and you couldn't be closer to transport links to everywhere else in Berlin! The only cons were that there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room, wifi... More

My eldest son and i just spent five days camped at the Melia in Berlin. The location is simply the best in Berlin for seeing anything that matters, most of it in walking distance, and with the Friedrichstrasse station right next door it puts you within reach of virtually all of Berlin. The staff were VERY professional and friendly, and... More

To start off I thought I was going to get lost finding the hotel but it was extremely easy to get there from tegel airport, we got a bus from the airport to an underground then got the underground which left us pretty much on the doorstep of the hotel, staff were amazingly helpful and friendly at all times, always... I stayed at Melia Berlin with my boyfriend over Valentines weekend. The location is perfect, only a 30 minute train journey from the airport. You can get the RE14 or RE7 train straight to the hotel (for about 3.30 euros single) with the train station only across the road from the hotel. The train is easy to find from the... More

My husband and I spent a few nights here and could not fault it! The room was spacious and very clean with a good view. The best thing abut this hotel is the location. Excellent. We will definitely be back!

Just stayed for one night… it's in a great area and it's a good hotel, staff friendly enough when I checked in. I had to change a booking for a twin room to two separate rooms due to me being ill and wanting my own space. We were charged a premium for being on the 7th floor and perhaps because... More

Clean, central located hotel, professional staff. At a very good price versus hotel facilities. Its better to take a room looking the river. The metro station is 200 meters away. It's a nice hotel in a good price and facilities with exceptional breakfast

This modern hotel is just 450 metres from Museum Island and right next to the Friedrichstrasse U-Bahn. There are terrific views over the river but you may prefer a courtyard room which is quieter. As with all Melia Hotels, there is a great tapas restaurant. I was travelling for business and I found the large lobby helpful for meetings. Room... More

The location of the Melia Berlin is the number 1 selling point of the hotel. A 2 minute walk to Friedruichstraße station- so getting around Berlin was easy. The hotel is not a 4.5 star hotel- but then the cost of the hotel wasn't 4.5 star either- so it was good value for money. Staff were helpful when required and... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
