We recently spent 3 nights at this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone as a place to stay in Berlin. Right on the river near the train station and walking distance to a lot of the tourist attractions and restaurants. The hotel is very modern and comfortable we had a room overloking the river. If I visit again... More

The hotel is well located, close to a metro & train station and at a walking distance to Brandeburg Gate. Bars and restaurants also in a short walking distance. The rooms are spacious, immaculate, well equipped and nicely decorated.

This Melia hotel presents good quality of Melia standard. Rooms are spacious and quite well equipped. Hotel slowly will need some improvements as the equipment starts to be slowly outdated, however at the moment it's still ok. Very nice about this hotel is that each or most of rooms are equipped with bathtubs and have spacious bathroom. Breakfast is really... More

Modern, comfortable & efficient hotel. Excellent location by Friedrichstrasse Station for trains & buses and within easy walking distance of Museum Island, the Brandenburg Gate & Reichstag. Friendly & efficient staff, great breakfast, rooms comfortable and very quiet. Public areas a little clinical for me and the bar rather dark & unwelcoming which is the only reason for not giving... Melia Berlin is easy to get to and was really good as a base to visit attractions in Berlin. The room was great - clean, comfortable and with good facilities. My wife thought the shower was very good. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful.

We chose the Melia Berlin having previously had a great experience at its sister hotel in Barcelona. This is a nice, modern hotel in a great Central location. However the service during our weekend stay was disappointing, especially considering the cost of a Level suite. The room wasn't ready until 2 hours after arrival, despite the hotel asking when we... A good location - a short walk to all the main attractions: Brandonberg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, River cruises, Reichstag, Museum Island, Tiergarten, etc. The hotel features excellent staff (with one of the best Concierges (Maximilian) we've ever come across!) and offers an excellent bar, restaurant and tapas bar. A thouroughly enjoyable stay - for one week - at good value... More

The Melia is a very clean hotel with professional and helpful staff. The rooms are well proportioned with spotless bathroom and powerful shower. I emailed ahead for a quiet non smoking which we got on the 6th floor. The beds are comfortable (double is 2 singles put together) the linen spotless and the towels are very soft. The position of the... More

I* stayed at Melia with my wife. The room was reasonable size, clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic, close to most things you want to visit in Berlin, especially museum island. The staff on the whole were very good to excellent except on one occasion, a man on front desk who had an attitude problem, we only encountered him once,... Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
