Excellent location very close to station, Easy to get to from airport on train. Nice hotel rooms of a good quality. Stayed on 6th Floor Overlooking main Street. As mentioned in other reviews no tea or coffee making facilities which is a bit of a disappointment for a hotel of this grade. View as a must have after Sightseeing. Luckily... More

We stayed here just before Christmas for a long weekend and could not have been happier with our choice. It's on Friedrichstrasse which is full of hotels, theatres, restaurants, cafes and a handy train station. We had a room overlooking the river Spee and were able to watch the riverboats float by, in fact the boats stop just by the... More

The hotel was great, I appreciated the staff and the location. Well done guys keep up the good work. The rooms are spacey and clean, food is excellent, very easy to reach anywhere in Berlin. We had a blast with my wife.

a very central hotel for sightseeing in Berlin.Close to all major sights.Very quiet and comfortable, good size rooms and a pillow menu!We asked for a quiet room and had one overlooking the courtyard.Didnt have breakfast as it was stupidly expensive and there are loads of great coffee shops close by.They did have incredibly heavy doors at the entrance which is... It was my first time in Belin and I was glad we chose this hotel. Very well located, confortable, clean, it was easy to go to everywhere from there. It was next to restaurants, places of interest, we had a great time!

We stayed for five nights at Melia in Berlin. The service was very good, breakfasts were fantastic and the location was perfect. We could walk to many of the top historical sites and the S-barn was two minutes walk away. WOuld highly recommend.

The Melia hotel is located within a 2 minute walk from the Friedrichstrasse train station, this made the transfer from the airport quick, easy and cheap, being a tad over 3 euros per person. On arrival we were able to check in early as we arrived at mid-day and were offered either a street or courtyard facing room. We picked... More

This was my second stay in Berlin and I once again chose the Melia Hotel. It didn't disappoint, such a wonderful welcoming hotel. Our room, 645 was overlooking the main street & river, very pretty at night with the lights from the riverside restaurants and bars. It wasn't noisy at all & had everything we needed for a very comfortable... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
