This is a very good hotel with great location. The metro is just 30 meters from it, has supermarket right there, next to train station and goos shops. Rooms are comfortable and clean. We didn't eat at the hotel, as there are plenty of options in the street. We will come back!

We have just got back from our stay at Melia Berlin. We have to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. The room was very spacious, kept tidy and was just lovely. The staff were all very pleasant as well. However, a few things to make people aware of. Don't be fooled by the 'free' WiFi. It is... More

Stayed at the Meliã Berlin for 4 nights for a Berlin city break. The Meliã is handy for all the main sights, being a 5-10 minute walk to Museum Island, 20 mins to Berliner Dom and max 30 mins to the TV Tower, all east of the hotel. To the west, it's a 15 mins walk to the Reichstag and... More

As a Melia Rewards member you get (as a birthday present) the privilege of spending two nights for the price of one. Of course you select one of the more expensive properties to maximise the advantage! This year we stayed in Melia Berlin, which is an excellent hotel in all respects. With the discount it was really cheap (but prices... More

A typical chain hotel experience, but on the positive side - that is everything was as expected, the bed was ok, the bathroom too and everything worked as expected. In the morning I could observe staff in the offices across the street (one of major consulting companies is located there, I forgot which one) which was funny. The receptionist was... More

What a fab 4 day break. Hotel, staff and breakfast first class. Fell in love with this gorgeous City. So much to see and do. Concierge was excellent in recommending good places to eat and drink. A City steeped in history. We will definitely return to this lovely hotel.

Melia tapas restaurant needs a complete upgrade. Food -20. This is not tapas as I know it and should be closed down. Absolutely awful, better off going to mcdonald across the road better food and much cheaper. Clearly the hotel does not care about the restaurant.

Would definetly recommend this hotel when staying in Berlin. The rooms are really nice and spacious. The hotel itself is only a couple of minutes walk from Friedrichstraße station which is great for getting around the city and it is within walking distance of a lot of main attractions. There are loads of places to eat just a few minutes... More

Chose this hotel after reading reviews. However can't agree with other reviews. We were celebrating both our birthdays. So we decided we would go for The Level experience for which we paid a lot of money. When we got into the room the Nespresso machine had stale water in it and coffee stains all over it. There was just one... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
