We had a four day holiday at the level room in August. The room was very quiet (7th floor) and upgrading to the level is worth the money. The lounge breakfast is very good and the buffet with wines and little snacks is also very good. The hotel location is superb. The most annoying thing was the wifi, it only... More

Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Berlin, its modern and well maintained and in a great location for exploring all of the city on foot, its also only a few minutes walk to station that goes straight to the airport. The staff were friendly and help and the room was spacious and well maintained, could not fault... More

Overall, this is possibly one of the best hotels I've stayed in! It's location is excellent, being on the riverside (Spree) and close to Museum Island and Friedrichstrasse station, so it's easy to get around the city.. The rooms are spacious and well laid out. The windows are double-glazed, so there is little noise, except for emergency services and you... More

This is a fantastic hotel in a great location. Friedrichstrasse is within a few minutes walk of Unter der Linden, Museum Island and the Reichstag (not all the same direction!). Also there is a U-Bahn station right outside the front door and and S-Bahn a few yards further on, though none of these are noticeable in the hotel. Rooms are... More

I booked with the hotels own website, I could not find cheaper elsewhere and they gave a 15 euro per day credit at the bar or restaurant. The train transfer from Schonefeld airport to Friedrichstrasse Station is easy and cost E3.30. The station is a few minutes walk under cover from the airport, the tickets are from a machine and... Very clean. Brilliant location to stay at as it is very central. Modern rooms with big beds and air con. Staff friendly. Only fault is the Wifi is not all free and it is not clearly stated anywhere that the first 24hrs is only 100 MB free so not free 24hrs free wifi.

Melia Berlin is located at the "old Berlin" between Alexanderplatz and Brandenburger Gate. It is clean, has great breakfast and attached tapas bar. The meeting facilities are excellent. As a shopping area Friedrickstrasse is expensive. But Berlin maal and Alexia mal are close by.

Stayed for 4 nights in August. Greeted by friendly efficient reception staff and were allocated room on 6 floor. Bedroom and bathroom modern and spotlessly clean, triple glazed window units keep out any street noise. Hotel reception area is modern and large with lots of seating areas. Hotel is in a great location 1 minutes walk to the train station... More

Signed up for Melia Rewards programme before booking and so glad I did. Apart from savings on the room/breakfast rate we also received 15 euros per room per night to spend in the Hotel Bar/Restaurant etc. and free wifi for one device daily. Room overlooked the River Spree and was modern and comfortable with a bathroom with underfloor heating and... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
