We were 7 girls from Beirut visting Berlin for the first time this January and this hostel was just perfect. We had a 8 beds dorm that was very nice and clean, and we were very happy about the showers and toilets that were clean and really near our room. The lobby is perfect if you want to drink cheap... Just got back from a solo trip to Berlin, and looked for a good place to stay and meet people. Stumbled upon this spot, here and went with it. I have to say this place is a great way to meet people, the common area makes it very easy to sit down with people and just chat and work out... More

We were staying in this hostel in March, as a group and I was really satisfied with it. Rooms were clean, showers too. I don't know about the breakfast because we didn't try it. The best thing was a lobby, especially at the evening/night. Bar works 24/7, there's always a lot of young people from different countries, with different experiences.... More

We visited in July 2015 there were 4 of us all English from Newcastle Upon Tyne. Great English speaking staff very helpful the guy on the front desk (pretty big w/ a beard) at the time was chill and pretty cool. The common rooms downstairs are a great place to meet friends we ended up on some pretty crazy nights... More

Very nice&helpful staff, 4-bed-rooms for great price, cozy&chill hall, useful common areas and you can even do your laundry! They are really helpful and understanding. Of course it is up to your budget, but in my approach (I've been to 3 other hostels in Berlin), for this price you can't get better atmosphere and quality! Amstel House's location is also... More

A great, friendly, laid back place to stay! We only stayed for a night. When we got there we were running from a bad experience with couchsurfing host. Entering the place we got a great vibe from the front desk guy. You could see everyone having a great time from backpackers to families with little ones. We are from Milwaukee... More

Was pretty clean and an okay room (4bedroom dorm) although it's not to close to the center of town. Breakfast was very average!!! Not a lot of variety in Resturants close by. Proably wouldn't stay here again although it was okay for the price.

I stayed here for 3 nights through a weekend and it was great! The closest metro is Turmstraße station which is less than a 5 minute walk away from the hostel (super convenient). We were on the first floor, never had an issue with using the showers and washroom (there was never anyone in there for us), good connection to... More

I spent 4 nights at this hostel and was extremely worried before arriving as I had never stayed in a hostel before. I expected the worst, dirty rooms etc. But boy was I pleasantly surprised. Myself and 3 others stayed in a 4 bed dorm with a private bathroom and it was better than most holiday apartments I have previously... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
