I stayed in Amstel House over the New Year. The staff were really friendly and fun - they had different events on every night, a nice little bar and plenty of seating to hang out and get to know the other guests. The breakfast was also really nice and cheap. The room itself was clean, comfortable and fairly spacious -... More

Very cheap, friendly staff but it was a bit far to travel to the central. Buffet breakfast and kitchen facilities were good. Bar had a good atmosphere at night time with karaoke and table tennis. Value for money.

I visited Amstel house during my staff in Berlin and liked it very much. The hotel is very large and acomodated large groups of a variety of travellers (families, backpackers, school groups ect). The hotel offered a complimentary breckfast within the main lobby and bar area which was bustling at night time. If you come here in the winter, the... More

Arrived at this hostel after a very long journey and then the receptionist wasn't very helpful on showing us how to get cash out to pay the city tax and room key so we had a long haul back up the road with our bags just to get this. Other receptionists throughout our stay were nicer and more helpful. The... More

I recommend this hostel to all my friends. Great location close to TXL airport by taxi or bus. It 24hrs concierge / service is extremely convenient. The hostel is clean and has friendly helpful staff. There are plenty of cafes nearby and public transport is very close also. Oh and it is excellent value for money!

Great location, 2 stops from Zoo Garten which has more connections for all over Berlin! Bar open 24/7 but in Noway overly noisy and prices for a bottle of beer as little as €1.50! Arrived on a friday and got to experience the burger BBQ for €7 (great value) Bathroom was spotless clean all weekend, staff were so friendly and... More

Hi, this hostel is cool. Clean and nice place with very friendly staff. Even the location is great although not directly in the city center of Berlin. Been there already twice and would come again. I can fully recommend!

A great hostel in which there's a lively hall with a bar, a lot of rooms I would recommend to young people mostly. The staff is cool and the rooms are clean and comfy. The only things that could be qualified as negative ones would be that you have to make your bed by yourself and it's a bit noisy... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
