This is the most dirty place we have ever been to. Totally lack of cleanlines. The guy who we checked in with, was not very nice either. It was also loudy. When other guest talked in their room, you could actually hear what they talked obout. The guy who made the check in was unpleasant and rude, so we had... More

1.) overbooking rooms. We didn't get to stay at John's, but stayed at David's Home instead. terrible booking system - Apparently John did not have space in spite of a confirmation e-mail that rooms were sorted. We were sent to David's home and here too, we had difficulty = apparently our reservation had been cancelled, but we did have confirmation... More

The hostel was in a great location, about a 5 min walk from the Turnstrasse metro station which takes you straight to berlin. There were basics provided in the kitchen which was good. However, the mugs seemed a little dirty. The set up was interesting to say the least. The beds were very comfortable, but the bathroom wasn't the cleanest.... More

Overall the stay was okay when we got there we had to wait for 2 hours to check in. We were then told that they had overbooked so they didn't have any rooms for us. We couldn't go anywhere else so he put a mattress on the floor for us. Shower could have been a bit cleaner but was okay.... More

h.the kitchen smells dirty, because the broom goes on the same place, and never under the bin where there are layers of brown and sticky thing. The mop never goes. No toaster, to use. The Sheets smelled. Guest smoke in the hoste. If you complain the staff complain that you speak English. You have to go through the street to... More

This place is just terrible. We only stayed for one night but I feel it as a duty to warn others to avoid this place. The bathroom was so filthy i couldn't bring myself to use it. The set up is strange, with reception and rooms being in separate buildings. The man who met us when we arrived was condescending and... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
