The best thing about this hotel is location. Room, food, staff and everything is quite normal. You should expect regular stay in regular hotel and everything will be alright. It is not for family with kids - since there are open space with bathroom and wc in one room - which is quite refreshing design for my mind.

When you see the building on the website you expect an entrance as on the picture. Nope. The entrance is a small door's house with the reception desk just there. We did the check in without any problem. The clerk was friendly. First "problem" occurred when we asked for someone for bringing our luggage (4 pieces) to our room. There... More

Located just near Alexanderplatz. Great boutique hotel. Our room was fantastic, more like a very roomy studio apartment. Plenty to do locally, funky shops and great restaurants in what was the old East Berlin. Apparently the hotel was once a Stasi building - cool!

I found Lux 11 to be a pleasant experience overall but only for the location, and nothing else. You are very close to everything at Lux 11 and your longest trip is 10 mins by cab, and Alexanderplatz station is 5 minutes away. In the vicinity is also the shopping district, a good shopping mall, many fantastic restaurants (Monsieur Vuong,... More

Poor housekeeping lets down this hotel's apartment section. Non smoking room smelled badly of cigarette smoke, several lights failed to work, an incomplete complement of cooking equipment, promised Wi-Fi failing every day and the corridors looking rather worn. Staff friendly but clearly frustrated by more senior management not being as attentive to running the establishment as perhaps they should.

I stayed in Lux11 twice. Once in August and once in November. I was is Berlin for a meeting and i loved the hotel. It is really close to Alexanderplatz. You just need to walk 4-5 minutes not more. Near the hotel you can find anything you want, Rossman, DM, Primark, Mediamarkt, Saturn and so.. The hotel is closed to... More

We recently booked executive suite to spend weekend in Berlin. First impression was very good, spacious rooms, nice design, great location but after: 1) doc station with connector to iPhone4. Hello??? We are in 2015 almost. At least provide with connectors - they cost nothing. 2) tv remote didn't work - after my call at the reception nobody cared to... More

I love this place and I have returned a few times because for the value and location ! Rooms are great size for what you pay and stylish ! Location is great with close access to good shops and if you are a night owl, you can still get to your room without walking through the reception desk !

A disappointing hotel lacking specialness. With some irritating mean spirited touches that lacked Lux. 15 Euros a day for internet connectivity. In this day and age seems very dated - as does the style of the hotel. Probably great in the day but now needs to move with the times. It is also 15 euros for the air-conditioner control! Bizarre.... We stayed here for 2 nights in July during the Berlin Fashion Week and I have to say that the hotel is very unique and charming. Loved the mixture between vintage & modern! Very spacious guest rooms/ appartments, friendly staff, delicious breakfast buffet and a vivid bar in the evenings. All in all a great place to stay in Berlin.... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
