well, it is my second time here and I am glad I didn't review the first time, when I only stayed one night. Good things first: new hotel; very clean, spacious and light rooms, very friendly staff, very good location (depending what you need or where you need to be), on site parking; Now the flaws: - breakfast is not... We booked in a junior suite. Great room and excellent location, right around the corner from checkpoint Charlie. Only downside is that there is no door from the living room to the bedroom so if your traveling with others you might have a small privacy problem.

Location is good. 3 min walk to u bahn. Possible to walk to all tourist attractions in east Berlin (at least one way). Wifi cost 10eur per day. The food in the restaurant is terrible(dinner)! We are not usually complaining...but the simple pizza and burgers we ordered I can tell you was not made by a real chef...the average Norwegian... More

First the good thing to say, we were welcomed well to this hotel on arrival. The reception people are friendly and take good care of you. In the restaurant you don't get any service or very little and the food in the Oleo Pazzo restaurant is not worth the money. Rooms are not cleaned on the day time, they just... More

Good location with nice rooms, comfortable beds, free computers in lobby. Only 6 blocks from two different restaurant areas. It is about 15 blocks, nice walk to Brandenburg GAte and Reistag. It is two blocks from the historical "Check Point Charlie". The front desk staff was helpful in providing directions to sites and restaurants.

We had booked the hotel on the basis that it was "reassuringly expensive". It is mediocre at best, in a dull and noisy location with rooms that have seen their last proper clean and refurbishment some time (too much time!). Given that Berlin has so many exciting accommodation choices, I would recommend to stay elsewhere unless you absolutely have to.

Spacious rooms. Large double bed and a sofa bed to accommodate children, if you would like. Lacks a good restaurant but has a decent buffet breakfast. Parking is expensive as with most European hotels but street parking is available for a charge and covered day parking is within 1 km distance at much cheaper prices.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and we had booked a superior double room online. When we arrived we were put into a room with two single beds; we didn't complain because we were only on Berlin for two days, but it was a bit sad. Contrary to what is posted here, there is no room service... More

No free wifi in rooms. Breakfast is an additional charge. Only free things on the TV in the rooms is CNN or BBC. Beds are not on par with those famous comfort Marriott beds in the US. The rooms are clean and have plenty of room. You do need conversion plugs for electrical outlets if from the USA. The location... More

Stayed there for a quick overnight, weekend sight seeing visit with the family. Did not have any real expectations but what a wonderful hotel this was. We found it basic but we did not expect five stars! It was a good sized room for the three of us, CLEAN,friendly staff, close to the sights, a very positive experience. My only... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
