I enjoyed my stay at the Marriott City Center Courtyard. I did have a little trouble finding it in the dark but that wasn't a huge problem. I was disappointed that the wifi was only available in the lobby....unless I wanted to pay 10E for it in my room, No thanks ! Good service overall and if I return to... More

The hotel is well located, not far from Postdam Platz but the rooms are not what you would expect from a four star hotel. I was given a huge room with three beds (even when I was traveling alone) no objections to this, but because it was that big it was quite cold, the bathroom was rather old, the mini... More

The hotel is nice, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. They had no wash cloths (hand cloths) offered with their towel sets (I asked), very tiny bar soaps, and an average location. I was disappointed with my 7-day stay though. I was put on the 5th floor and the 6th floor was having renovation. Virtually each morning I was... More

It's a nice hotel, usually I like very much Marriot hotels!! The room is nice, the service is ok. The only problem was that we found it very far away from the places we wanted to go, the city bus tour was 20 min walking in the cold weather, and all atractions like shopping malls or turistic places where 15... I had a really good time when I stayed here last year, and I'm pleased to say it was just the same this year. Since my last stay, all the rooms have been refurbished and now look very stylish and attractive. I was pleased to find the Marriott bed as good as ever as I like a firm bed. I... More

The hotel are located at 5 or 6 blocks of "Check Point Charlie", so you can visit a lot of things winthout using any transportarion. Easy to get there, from Hauptbanhof. There's only one bad thing, if you want to use internet in your room, you have to pay

This hotel has everything you'd expect from a Courtyard property - good service, neutral clean rooms of a decent size, and sadly chargeable wifi. Located in a quiet part of Mitte minutes from Spittelmarkt on U2 and an easy walk to Checkpoint Charlie and the main sights of East Berlin. The reception staff were very welcoming and able to advise... More

I always stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Berlin City Center when visiting Berlin on business. I have been coming here ever since they opened this location. Reasonable rates, great service, wonderful breakfast, good location for access to downtown.

Well located hotel for our recent stay in Berlin. Front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Our rooms were clean and spacious. Only blip was that tea bags were not replenished during our stay and towels were not replaced in one room on one occasion and on two occasions in our second room.

RECOMMENDED: This newish property is located in a quieter central business section. It's a moderate walk to the inner city sights. The U2 East-West subway is ~ 5 min walk and this will take to other popular areas. You can also walk (a real walk) to NeuKolln area. There are some basic shopping and restaurants nearby (but nothing special). Staff... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
